Also for those asking about if their Bean can be built, here's what it looks like price wise;
-About £20-£60 for the chassis (if you don't already have one)
-£12-£30 of fittings depending on what you fit to yours
-£12-£30 of paint and lining, depending on if we have- (1/3)
When the overhead wires failed in the Netherlands. This little tram lad from the stoomtram museum was nearby and in steam, so they asked if this and the little diesel acting as brake conversion and coupling, the little engine dragged the lot to the next station!
I think one of the highlights of the weekend was at the lecture, we managed to get talking to Veronica Awdry, I introduced her to Beanie and after explaining who beanie was and what she represented, she said her Dad would've liked how I had gone about making her!
Well I suppose there's no hiding it. As one of many who's worked her very hard to bring her back to the waking world, join me welcoming back the mighty A2, Blue Peter!
Just remember folks, if you ever feel trrapped and isolated under quarintine, just remember there's an engine in an open cast mine in Spain that got stranded because the ground either side of it became hopelessly unstable, so it's been stuck there since the 60s.
I cant takes it no more!
Theythees and gentlethems.
I introduce the engine I've spent since January building, the engine that's tested every neuron in my corpus collosum. The scratch build with instructions; The one, the Only. Drummond's bug.
@datcaiac
He's a cheeky little engine, with six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler and a short stumpy dome.
I love how he's come out so far, there's a few touch ups to do, but on the whole, he's looking exactly how I want him to..!
One of the most stark things about being back at nvr, the faces I did for the engines, not only are they now on their respective engines, but they've garnered so much attention, they've sort of been left on them.
"Tell me little engine, what scares yo-"
"Garratts."
"Excuse me?"
"D'as roight, 'Ave ya neva seen a garratt, Mista 1020? It's like a rogue boiler went around and gobbled up two engines so it would have wheels of its own.. they'll eat you too if you drop ya guard...!"
"....What."
With this chest infection finally flattening out, I feel well enough to start modelling again without hacking up a lung. To start us off id add a bit of detail to my Thomas build. I've added a tramway bell up top to try and balance the boiler out a bit better.
Errybody sad the E2 didn't live.
I'm sad THIS funny thing didn't live. She was such a meme train that was promised preservation, but some Austrian twat and his decisions saw to it that this and several other engines fell to the scrap metal drives...
Speaking of superior pacifics, I can guarantee it will not be long before you see Blue Peter running!
[You guys have no idea just how big of an engine she is...!]
So, people often wonder how strong Tink is? Keep in mind this is the same engine British railway "nationalists" will tell you that she can't pull more than 2-3 MK1s. Heres a video proving them wrong.
Welp, since the talk is on Dudley atm, and a fair few are curious as to Dudleys past and how he gets to sodor to begin with, join me if you will as I explain the what's and how Dudley got where he did; to start off with, allow me to throw some real life happenings at you [THREAD]
I've now done a comic of a "what if" scenario where Dudley meets Beanie right before he's scrapped, manipulates her into taking him back to Sodor and restoring him HOTR style. Unfortunately for the former, Lizzie the 4300 is catching on...!
Dudley belongs to

The whole montage from "Goodbye Fat Controller" is one of those more subtly funny montages, its not going over the top with bouncing, or making RWS refferences, it's probably the most cartoonish I'd prefer the series to stay at... How times change.
You know what makes me sad about this? With everyone and his traction engine having a mobile camera device and the inability for some people to keep ones mouth shut for the sake of the joke, a prank of this scale in preservation will most likely never happen again.
You cannot begin to comprehend how happy seeing these pics make me.
She's done it, Tinkerbell has hauled her first test train from one end of the line to the other for the first time in 40 years!
And finally after a few months we have found pics of Thomas when he did mainline shuttles at Cambridge! Many thanks to David Harrison for unearthing these gem pics.
As a man now who's spent most of his adult life around restoring engines, I'm of the firm belief that if your engine is going to whistle before if moves for the first time after it's been restored, you fucking lay on that whistle cord-
Words fail to describe how happy I am to finally see this image.
Tinkerbell has proven herself in loaded test runs l, if you're about Peterborough on the 10th and 11th of February, go and fucking see her! She's been waiting for you!
I'll do yall one better, engines ARE in steam, BUT the means to keep them running on a day to day basis means they've modernised the way they overhaul and repair is miles ahead of tradition, roller bearings, welded boilers, standardised fitting for sodor engines-
If the Island of Sodor was a real, actual heritage place in our real world, plenty of your favorite characters would look like this
“Awaiting Overhaul”, bless their hearts
Though James himself would absolutely be static display
Posting this video because people were talking about Blue Peters slip.
Calculations estimate she actually slipped up to 154mph, and it cost her £800 every second she slipped.
So @/Flying_14xx showed me that someone kitbashed a ruston into a really convincing steam outline and I want to say "God help the ruston I get my hands on."
So, people often wonder how strong Tink is? Keep in mind this is the same engine British railway "nationalists" will tell you that she can't pull more than 2-3 MK1s. Heres a video proving them wrong.
As some of you know, Beanie started life as an 0-4-0 saddle tank, then was rebuilt as a well tank. When I eventually get around to filming her. The best solution to this is normally the easiest.
