We’re not on the same page. The average nonvegan kills 100 times more animals than a vegan, and 5 to 10 times more crop deaths occur now than in a vegan world. Also, bovines eat mostly harvested grass, not pasture grass, so more crop deaths are caused by grazing bovines.

When I ask nonvegans who make excuses for not being vegan (poor, food desert, health restrictions, etc) whether it’s a moral obligation for *me* to be vegan, they say no. This reveals the underlying reason they’re not vegan. It’s not their excuse. It’s their human supremacism.

The most obvious lesson I’ve learned from adult life and 20 years of vegan advocacy is that social, legal, & religious pressure — NOT moral concern — keeps ~ 99% of humans in line. Only ~ 1% are genuinely motivated by moral concern. Unsurprisingly, vegans < 1% of population.

At least some anti-vegans believe that being vegan lowers one’s standard of life. My standard of life is far better as a 20-year vegan due to much better physical health, and much better psychological health, due to the self-respect I have for choosing the right way to live.
