Of course he did. We had very little info at the start, but everyone was scared and needed guidance. That guidance has changed in real-time as we get more data and understanding from research. Sometimes at a great cost.
More data = better knowledge. That's how science works. 🤷♂️

I swear people don't realize that scientist change their opinion with more evidence/facts. They know when to admit being wrong OR not having enough evidence to fully understand something. Somehow, that makes people think they are "not qualified" or "liars" which is just... Wild.
