I am proud to announce the release of the first chapter of My Virtual Escape 2. the series will see release on Tumblr for the foreseeable future, although when the manga adaption begins you can find that on Webtoon. thread below, please read. 🧵
I don't really care for either joke but in the context of Clone High, this part makes sense because Abe was frozen since 2003 and he's now learning what's acceptable to say and what isn't acceptable to say. it's them reflecting on how much our culture has changed.
waiting for cartoon twitter people who shat on that one helluva boss clip to suddenly turn around and praise clone high 2023 for doing nearly the exact same fucking joke
I really like the beta Unleashed model, maybe even more than the final version. one small detail is that his eyes flow with his muzzle like the 2D art.
it genuinely impresses me how well Sonic Unleashed holds up 14 years later. the game looks like it could have come out during the last generation of consoles, it's that good.
it's the closest Sonic has ever had to a modern AAA experience.
I want Sonic to do weird unexpected shit again too. I don’t care I love that they gave him a sword and turned him into a werewolf that was FUCKING COOL
Alright listen. I know to some, Roger isn't our favorite voice actor for Sonic.
but outright being disrespectful and rude about his return, and claiming that the next game is gonna suck because of it is just ridiculous, and it's not cool.
Serious note, that tweet was trolling. But it had a serious undertone. Imo, the Modern Sonic's model has design issues that end up plaguing other forms of official art due to it being the base. I feel if we merge elements of them both ( Marcus Larry design) and it could be peak.
Feedback and criticism is a very important thing, especially for the Sonic franchise. if we simply kept our mouths shut all of these years, we wouldn’t have gone from Forces to Frontiers. we wouldn’t have gone from Sonic 4, to Mania, and now Superstars.
encourage discussion.
*drops modern sonic mug and sonic toast*
w-wait.. you mean you need to THINK while playing Sonic 1? b-but you're only supposed to go fast! holy moderinos..
there's something oddly endearing about the South Park (N64) promotional 3D renders from 1999. aside from a few instances from this time there haven't been any other times South Park has been in 3D like this, and honestly it's a great translation from 2D, especially for the time.
in art direction, atmosphere, and story- I personally think Sonic Heroes was the closest attempt in the series to translate the Genesis titles into 3D.
it's a huge shame everything was dropped afterwards.
so Chaotix is canon but they also imply that classic characters aren’t exclusive to that era anymore.
which means Mighty, Ray, Trip and Honey are on the table for the modern era now
Sonic fans are too comfortable with the series playing it safe, I think we should always encourage the brand to push boundaries and the idea of what a Sonic game could be.
Sonic Adventure has my favorite aesthetics and controls out of the entire 3D Sonic linage. It’s so vibrant and realistic, yet surrealistic and cartoony. and the controls are honestly the best Sonic has ever controlled in a 3D space. The whole game is literally the classics in 3D.
Nintendo releasing the Wii with full on GameCube support with the controller ports on the top of the system + memory card support was one of the best decisions they’ve ever made. when you buy a Wii, you’re buying a GameCube as well. and ain’t that a bang for your buck?
I don't mind her being apart of Team Sonic, however I also like the idea of Amy having her own "group" or team opposed to Sonic's, I think there could be some playful rivalry and dynamics at play there.
Sonic = Amy
Tails = Cream
Knuckles = Sticks
I'd love to see a redub of Sonic X that was left uncensored, had a more solid script, and more solid voice direction.
@Mardiculous
is a really solid Sonic!
the Sonic community, specifically Sonic Twitter, is probably one of the most insufferable spaces you could be in.
the Sonic FAN GAME scene though? oh my lord these people are fucking gods. I love this shit so much
I played a bit of the recently released Classic Sonic Improvement Mod by Showin and man does it improve Classic Sonic. not just from a gameplay perspective, which felt much more closer to the classic trilogy, but from a visual standpoint too. I genuinely love this model.
seeing the QRTs and replies preparing to go to war over this not realizing Deven is in on the bit and finds it funny has made me realize that Sonic fans are some of the most thinned skin people no offense
“Classic Sonic wasn’t built for 3D” is such a nothing burger of a statement because one of the first things they did after finishing his design was craft a clay model of him which was used for the CD title screen, and how the sprite shading and airbrush shading would look
we know Kill La Kill is Shadow's favorite anime, and that Ryuko is his favorite character. so all we need is Ryuko's voice actress to confirm that Ryuko's favorite game is Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow is her favorite character
and then my friends, we'll have reached full circle.
ngl as much as I adore Crush 40, i'm real keen on the idea of letting other bands give their talent to the Sonic series. We've had Michael Jackson, Bowling for Soup, Zebrahead, Hoobastank, and now One Ok Rock among many others.
And they've all made bangers
I know the topic of Evan Stanley's Sonic has been a divisive one, and I know some have voiced their critiques in probably not the best manner, but I wanted to voice mine. Evan is a great artist, and this is purely just my opinion. if you like their Sonic, that's cool!
Windmill Isle stands as the best opening level to any 3D Sonic game in my personal opinion due to it's unmatched aesthetics, music, and feel good vibe. it captures the sense of thrill, wonder, and adventure perfectly.
I find the mockups made during the post Game Awards and pre gameplay reveal era of Sonic Frontiers very interesting to look back on.
mockups by
@BlueVivacity
and
@XenoScarlet
Sonic Adventure 2 has my favorite story in the entire series. I think the story of Adventure 2 is well thought out and the themes are conveyed properly. It proves that Sonic can manage a serious narrative.
As a whole, it felt like SEGA’s swan song.
you guys have gotten a sequel, a remake of the first game, and a very successful TV adaption WITH a multiplayer game on the way and a third game likely in development. you guys are fine lol.
Rayman and Banjo fans on the other hand..
