When someone asks you for help getting a cybersecurity job with a non-technical background and you give them alternative routes for cyber and they respond with "I’m not interested in starting I’m another field thanks" --- 👀
@CyberSnark
Make them sit shadow with your average cyber-security expert and maybe they'll change their mind.
I've used this for people who want to get into my area of expertise. They no longer ask me for career advice.
@CyberSnark
They asked for help getting a cyber security job so I guess I can understand why they didn’t accept the alt path. Doesn’t seem rude to me, just direct. They could consider an apprenticeship. They won’t make 6 figs but they’ll get the experience they need.
