The Coweta School System is currently monitoring weather forecasts for Monday, January 8. School system officials will participate in a 7:00 pm National Weather Service briefing on expected weather conditions, and will issue an update on school operations at that time.

Coweta Schools officials were notified at 9:30 a.m. by Newnan Police that the caller who made threats to Coweta County schools was taken into custody in Savannah, GA, and will be charged with making terroristic threats. -
During year-end planning Tuesday, Coweta Schools administrators fanned out across Coweta for a day of giving. Washing police and fire vehicles, building food bags and backpacks, and cleaning up city streets, to thank partners and the community for a great 2018-19 school year.

Coweta Schools were notified by law enforcement Friday morning that they are investigating what they believe is a prank call regarding school shootings. Police do not believe the call is credible, but schools will operate with additional security today -

Coweta Schools are currently experiencing system-wide internet outages, which will affect virtual learning this morning. The system is working with the internet provider to restore connection.

As local COVID-19 levels improve, Coweta Schools begin phasing out modified school operations. Coweta County high schools will end cohort hybrid schedules and resume normal week-to-week operations starting Monday March 1st.

Northgate High School and Canongate Elementary are currently on a security lockdown, as a precaution only. Northgate was notified by law enforcement (11:20 a.m.) of a man walking down Fischer Road with a gun. Law enforcement has responded, and both schools are awaiting all-clear.
