Alberta, open pit coal mines are back. Great interview w High River Mayor Snodgrass about why they're a terrible idea for our water, why it makes NO financial sense & why we can't trust the govt or the AER to act in our interests. This is trouble. Pls RT

@CorbLund I'm much rather this than a lithium mine. You need coal to build your unreliable wind turbines, solar panels, and ev cars. I would rather see coal mined than TransAltas project at Tent Mountain to flood a valley to build an energy storage project.

@CorbLund Maybe you should check out the titanium and Zircon extraction facility in wood Buffalo or the Clearhills mining project in clear hills, the cobalt refinery in Lamont County, Clearwater lithium project in Leduc County. The peace river arch lithium project.

@CorbLund You can’t trust the UCP but the TBA will be happy to take Alberta back to the dark ages for the environment (and any visible minority).

@CorbLund What does The Boss, @DavidJPba , have to say about metallurgical coal mining in the eastern slopes, lack of Alberta Energy Regulator jurisdiction to re-open anything Grassy Mountain related, and arms length dealings between govt. and the Regulator? If he’s opposed end of problem!

@CorbLund But obviously ranching and farming is just fine. I'm sure every rancher out there would drink the water from the stream on their property wouldn't they? I'm sure all the pesticides and herbicides and steroids that go into animals are completely fine for the water system!

@CorbLund @ShelbyVoting High River has a huge bottled water industry that could be damaged. Not to mention Highwood distillery (Alberta premium Rye).

@CorbLund Thank you for posting this. My grandparents were in Black Diamond, great grandfather in Ft McLeod as a carpenter for the NWMP and father and grandmother from Granum. Southern Alberta is in my blood. I'm a musician, and I enjoy your music as well.

@CorbLund Int'l investors don't care whether we have drinkable water or not. It's the UCP's job to defend foreign corporate interests while cracking down on local dissent. No different than any other conservative-elite selected by the US to secure access to resources around the world.

@CorbLund This is exhausting - how long do we have to put up with a government trying to slip awful things past us?
