After the last game of the day, he took the time to clean their bench. Picked up all the trash. Straightened up the bench.
Leaving the place better than he found it.
After a great conversation with my wife of 41 years, I am humble and blessed to announce I have an extension of my marriage, and therefore will not have to enter the transfer portal. Respect my decision.
Ja Morant went to a public school in SC
Zion Williamson went to a private school in SC
Pat Williams went to a public school in NC
Coby White went to a private school in NC
But all four attended the same school for all four years of high schools. You don't have to bounce around.

Said it many times before. Parents, just enjoy the wonderful journey of your child's basketball career. If they're fortunate to be recruited by ANY LEVEL, cherish it. Use that opportunity as a platform to get a college degree. Find the right fit "on and off the basketball court"
In 2009, after 30 years of employment> I loss my job. In my 50's at the time. Wondered what to do with my life. Had a lot of anxiety & even got depressed. Decided to take my life savings & retirement & invested in

What a wonderful journey we have lived.
Saw a First this weekend, Team Loaded NC 17U brought a trash bag to the game and picked up all their empty water bottles after the game. Left the bench area area clean for the next team.
Much respect
As you awake this morning, do yourself a favor. Look around you. Appreciate what you have, it's a blessing and nothing will be the same a month from now, a year from now. Value and appreciate every single day
Looking to be the best

With the NCAA Live Period right around the corner (April 8-10) and (April 22-24) let's be realistic at what to expect in today's current recruiting culture with the transfer portal.
1. 95% of college coaches will be watching 17U ONLY
Travel ball season is now here. . Teams should be chasing scholarship opportunities rather than trophies. After a while, those trophies collect dust. Education lasts a life time.
Most of all, enjoy the journey
Spoke to a college coach about today's 5 layers of recruiting in order of importance.
1. Re-recruit your own players
2. Recruit the transfer portal
3. Recruit JUCO
4. Recruit post grad
5. Recruit high school players
Recruiting has definitely changed. It's okay for players to go…

My brother, Johnnie, passed away this morning. He was a kind and caring person who will be missed greatly. Johnnie was a great brother and friend. He loved my kids Bridgett, Colby, and Tyler like they were his own.

What a lot of young players don't understand. It's not all about scoring. Yes, scoring is important, but do you make your team better and can you defend your position.
Dirty little secret, I pay as much attention to a player's body language on and off the court, whether he has good manners and yes I'm biased to players who say "thank you," "yes/no sir." It's the simple things. If I'm a college coach, these things matter.
Win or lose tonight, the biggest takeaway from Hubert Davis' coaching style. Wants the game to be fun & allows players to make mistakes which allows them the confidence to make the big play.
George Floyd was arrested for "allegedly" giving a store owner a counterfeit $20.00 bill. Let that sink in just for one moment. Simple fact, if George Floyd was white, he would be alive today. We can no longer be silent.
We all need to listen and educate ourselves.

Ten things that require ZERO TALENT
1. Being on time
2. Work ethic
3. Effort
4. Body language
5. Energy
6. Attitude
7. Passion
8. Being coachable
9. Doing extra
10. Being prepared

Probably an understatement, but the SoCon is one of the most underrated conferences in the country.

Outstanding teams and outstanding coaches in this league
Can’t emphasize this enough for 🏀 parents. Sit back, relax, and enjoy. It’s over quicker than you want it to be. Hardest thing is to “just trust the process.” If it is meant to be, it will happen. Be positive and give encouragement that team success is most important.
Young players need to start developing positive behavior sooner rather than later. Stop complaining about calls, no need to talk back to opposing players when you make a good play. Don't give college coaches a reason not to recruit you.

To young 🏀 prospects
“You will play at the level you can defend.”
Take pride in your defense. Just don’t work on ball handling & shooting. Work on your defensive posture and lateral quickness. Sit low, make yourself bigger by playing with your arms and hands out
Young players, remember this. “If a coach can’t trust your effort in the weight room, the classroom and at practice, how can you be trusted to play in a game?”
Confession. I'm biased to young players that play hard on both ends of the court. Guys who play with conviction, passion and a purpose. Guys that say "we" instead of "me." Guys that have great body language and VALUE WINNING.
In their first official year as a D1 school, Queens University moves to 9-2 with the win over ETSU. More importantly, the entire starting 5 are all players from NC, not to mention they were all under-recruited. Big wins over Marshall, Green Bay, Bowling Green, & High Point
While the NIL is the number one priority for most athletes at the current time, and I'm all for them benefitting from their image and likeness, at what point do we talk about getting a meaningful degree that will prepare them for the next 40 years of their lives? The ball will…
As the summer travel ball season comes to a close, I hope parents & players take the time to thank their coaches. Seen first hand how so many coaches sacrifice time and money to help others. No matter the level, the large majority do it for the right reason
