Coaching at an HBCU is not for the weak. You’re going to fight battles internally and externally. And if your program experience any type of success it will be even harder. I chose to come back for the fight. To truly even the playing fields and do something thats never been done
Coach Auriemma is such a class act! He’s a legend. It was an honor to walk in the gym seeing all of the banners. I’m very thankful that he thinks highly of me and of what we have done at JSU. Thank you Coach for what you do for the game of women’s basketball! 🙏🏽❤️
You have NO IDEA how proud I am!!!! Our 2nd player to get drafted!!! Angel I’m so very proud of you BABY!!!
@hooper_angel15
GREAT JOB!!!!!! Go do your thing!!
#MYHBCU
Players come to the HBCU level and think our level is a joke. They think it’s easy. NO you have to work here too. And the parents think they can disrespect us as coaches but don’t talk to the PWI or Power 5 coaches like that. NO you will respect us too!
This means EVERYTHING!!! Two people that I have GREAT respect for. Thank you
@dawnstaley
and
@UConnWBB
Geno!!! I greatly appreciate what you do for the game and how you uplift coaches like myself advocating for change and opportunities.
I really wish we had someone filming a documentary of what goes on behind closed doors. The opportunities we provide to players someone else mishandled, the lives we save, the support we provide, the way we get these players ready for competition with limited resources. Its tough
This is a Big Deal to me! One of those moments I never dreamed about because I didn’t know it existed. It was amazing being at the Headquarters of the NCAA. Grateful for this seat. Thankful the circle that push me beyond my knowing. Jackie, Joni, Felicia, Carol, Anita and Diane
We love the buzz! It’s time! I’m in the portal looking for great Charlotte 49ers. LETSSSS GOOOO! Please follow our WBB page to stay updated.
@CharlotteWBB
We have definitely grown this program over the years and have been extremely competitive outside of the conference. More season left to play. We hope to still March! May be the only HBCU Women’s team to beat a Power 5 this season. Top 100 net ranking. 🙏🏽
#BrightSpots
Coaches please do your research on recruits/transfers. And remember you can’t save everyone. I learned a valuable lesson. Cancer can destroy a program. Especially when it’s sneaky.

We always seek to do something that has never been done in our program as we look to continue to elevate the bar each year. But to receive an email saying we received a vote for the AP Poll is beyond my imagination!!! Lord I thank you!! To whoever voted for us THANK YOU!!
Come support your JSU Tigers vs Texas Longhorns December 14 @ 11:00a AT JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY. This will be an unforgettable experience. We will host our local elementary, middle and high schools during this game. Come catch the excitement. WE NEED YOU TO PACK THE HOUSE!
I’m so tired of seeing these kids begging for followers. That’s what’s wrong with this young generation now. Just WORK! Be who God created you to be and he will MAGNIFY you!!

God has been to good to me for me to question him. During the moment of disbelief and wanting to give up but you don’t, instead, you choose to continue to have faith and trust him is the moment he show up and show out. Lord I trust you.
As black female coaches in a HBCU environment we are the most slept on and the most disrespected ever. We are doing the same thing other coaches are doing with less resources and sometimes a lot less talent. But still we are walked over and thought less of.
#RiseTheUnderdog
I’m thankful!!! Thank you to my staff, team and administrators. This is a program award! Thank you to the coaches and administrators who voted for me! Bless you!
I like to take this time of the year to reflect. Two consecutive 20+ Win seasons (2022 and 2023). A TON has been accomplished in my 5 seasons at Jackson State. I’m truly thankful!
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR UNWAVERING SUPPORT!

You have to earn stripes to speak publicly about this struggle. If you aren’t willing to roll up your sleeves, make a difference and demand others to respect us, not by words but by actions, then get out of the way. We got something to do! Our work here is bigger than us. 🫶🏽
Poo is getting better. Been in the ER all day. Flu other viruses are extremely hard on Type 1 diabetics. Trying to get his fever down and his sugar down has been a task. But he’s in good hands. Thank you all for your prayers 🙏🏽
@moarrington
I can’t speak on that. That’s not my experience or struggle. I didn’t accept a job that was a sacrifice or accept less than. I accepted an opportunity to stamp a place with already great winning tradition. With respect, if you don’t see it, try not to speak on it.

@60Minutes
y’all made Jackson, MS look horrible. You should be ashamed of yourselves for showing the worst house you can find in America and make it like that describes us. I’m not even sure if that abandoned house you showed is even in Jackson.
#ThisisHome
This is REAL! The overflow of blessings. When you see me, I want you to see the work of the Lord all over me! He will do it for you! Just believe!!!

🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 8 collective Championships in my 6 years!! Praise God!!!
Look at what
@CoachTReed
has done in just four years at Jackson State:
- Three SWAC regular-season titles (2020-22)
- Two SWAC championships (2021, 2022)
- 2x SWAC Coach of the Year (2020, 2022)
- Coached two different SWAC POY
- Won last 37 games against SWAC opponents
When I took the job at Jackson State the Holy Spirit told me everything that will happen for you will be unconventional. And when it happens you will tell them about me. This is the platform for it. And yes God has Truly blessed me and my program! 🗣
It is an amazing feeling to be at the table. I’m truly honored for this opportunity!! Great to see Jackson State and the SWAC’s continued growth and representation on the highest level.
Congratulations to our head women’s basketball coach (
@CoachTReed
) for being named a member of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Oversight Committee!

Three Power 5’s and eight flights in one week = Complete Exhaustion. It was hard completing our schedule after being dropped over and over and over. So we had to take what we could get. I’m proud of my ladies! This little rest time is much needed.
