I’ve been around this game for over 20 years. And now it’s time to tell my story.

Deion Sanders showed athletic departments across the country today that it is okay to hire a black man as a head coach and allow him to be himself, whereas before, black coaches had to fit a certain mold.
Now, administrations are going to see winning and green! When before, they…
When I’m 50 years old I’m stopping whatever I’m doing, moving to a small town by the lake and running the Wing T. The QB doesn’t even need to learn how to throw cause we ain’t passing. Catch bass in the AM and run Buck Sweep in the PM. I’ll have a Beagle Hound name Sally.
I had a kid tell me last night he can’t live off his full scholarship, pell grant, cost of attendance check, and his 50k a year in NIL money. Times are wild
17 people shot in St. Louis yesterday. Including the devastating loss of one of our brightest young future starts in this city. This city has no value for life. This city eats their young. R.I.P. Young Bull
For black head coaches there is no margin for error, no patience. You have to be able to immediately get results. No matter how unrealistic that might be.
An OG told me once: They don’t respect you at the bottom, they ignore you in the middle, and they hate you at the top. You’ll never have everyone’s approval. So it’s best to just focus on what you’re doing.
If you are getting D2 offers it’s because your size, speed, film, and grades says that’s what you are. It’s not disrespectful or being slept on. It’s an opportunity you should appreciate.
Every year at camps and 7 on 7 tournaments I see players and coaches disrespecting Cam Newton.
When they should be taking advantage of having him in their space by building a relationship and gaining knowledge.
My players made some poor decisions last night on social media. So they won’t be on it for a while. They cannot currently do media interviews. They will undergo social media training during their ban. Here are 10 things I told them that I hope they learn from this experience.
I talked to Coach Prime this morning about Defensive Coordinator Charles Kelly moving on to Auburn. This was something that they both agreed upon. Coach Prime is always for his coaches making the moves they feel are best for their careers and their family.
But the Defensive…
Letting him play 7 weeks knowing he had a gun charge coming while demanding Michigan state players be arrested for a post game fight, is nasty business.
Michigan’s Mazi Smith faces a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon stemming from an incident that occurred Oct. 7, according to Washtenaw County court records.
Smith was a midseason All-American for the No. 2 Wolverines.
If you are getting D2 offers it’s because your size, speed, film, and grades says that’s what you are. It’s not disrespectful or being slept on, it’s an opportunity you should appreciate.
Michigan is experiencing a surreal moment like this because they stuck with their coach and trusted the process. Didn’t run him out of town the first sign of danger. Something to be said about that.
Never get in a fight with a dude that has Cauliflower Ear. That’s not from an OG. That’s from me. If a guy has Cauliflower ear just say excuse me and go about your business.
We didn’t have a problem when Bryce Young got a million before he took a snap at Bama. Or when Quinn Ewers got a million, left high school, and went to Ohio State. So we can’t call it a conspiracy when Travis Hunter, Jackson State, and Deion Sanders plays the game the same way.
John Calipari will go to Arkansas with a bankroll from Tyson Foods and Walmart for NIL. He will adjust to the new transfer portal world and quickly pivot from the One and Done.
If you’re a mid major or mid tier program with a great player go to his apartment immediately. He may…
When you are an assistant coach, even if you don’t agree with the head coach. Your job is too help make his vision come to life. Not to be a hater, complainer, divider, and underminer.
There is nothing wrong with playing D2, NAIA or any lower level college football. If you have these offers it’s a blessing and a chance to keep playing and get a degree. No matter how much it hurts. Everyone is not a D1 guy and that’s ok.
An OG told me once: They don’t respect you at the bottom, they ignore you in the middle, and they hate you at the top. You’ll never have everyone’s approval. So it’s best to just focus on what you’re doing.
The transfer portal was necessary because of the abuse of power that college coaches used to dictate transfer terms. The restrictions many coaches put in place on transfers were hateful, mean-spirited, and in many cases downright bullying. The players needed the right to make the…
Thank you for all the calls and concerns regarding my oldest son, KK. He was shot last night and is in stable condition. He has a tough road ahead of him physically and mentally. We want to thank you for all the prayers.
Please send your prayers and support to the wife and kids…
Small school college coaches bragging on social media about how they aren’t accepting kids who “big timed” them is silly to me. So you won’t take a good player because he chased a D1 dream? Doesn’t make sense to me. No room for emotions in recruiting. Especially from grown men.
I called Coach Deion Sanders and asked him about the recent transfers from Colorado, He told me: “You should be able to tell by the white cowboy hat I wore in the spring game that this isn’t my first rodeo, we coming.”

Had to pull up on my man Cesar. Before I left my last coaching job Cesar was a guy who did all the right things. Was always a huge help. I promised him a PS5. I know he thought after I left I forgot about him. But you can never forget guys who make an impact.

If you are a high school senior right now without a Division 1 offer. Now is the time to understand that if you want to play college football you are going D2, NAIA, D3, or juco. Great educations received at those schools. Be grateful for the opportunity. Answer the phone!
“That’s not designed for all year round, because if it was the NFL would’ve done it and monetized it.”
Coach Deion Sanders discusses why youth football should only be played in the fall.
I remember being a public school coach sitting in a middle school scheduling meeting. There was a private high school coach there whom I had an issue with because he was "stealing my players." I confronted him very aggressively, and he asked me to sit down so he could show me…
No sports at all 🤦🏿♂️. In other news my wife and kids are actually pretty cool people. I even just found out one of my kids started kindergarten this year. One of the older boys apparently has been dating the same girl for 4 years. Man who knew 🤷🏿♂️
Guys that are Division 1 recruits should dominate high school football. If you aren't dominant in games and on film then you're pump faking. When I see a dude commit to a Power 5 school Im expecting to turn on the film and you jump off the film like Michael Jordan in Space Jam.
Why do so many kids act as though they’ve been disrespected if they are told they are a D2 or NAIA player? Get your education. Also be able to accept the truth.
Playing college football is really hard. One of the best ways to get through it is to stop calling home every night. Get into your meetings, your plays, your job and endure the pain. No one at home can help you. This part of the journey is all on you. Get your mind right.
Mike Leach was special not because of the Air Raid or his offensive coaching tree. He was special because in a world where everyone is trying to be acceptable to someone else. The only thing acceptable to him was that he was his authentic self.
I know that the EYBL is considered the best basketball circuit in the country. But if you are on an EYBL team and you sit on the bench and never play. Wouldn’t you be better off on another team where you can get on the floor in front of coaches? There aren’t many open periods.
A youth football coach just called me and said you have to play 30-50 games a year for exposure. This has really confused me. For kids in elementary school, what is exposure in football? Are college coaches watching? Somebody educate me, please.
If you are a high school senior without a Division 1 offer now is the time to understand that if you want to play college football you are going Division 2, NAIA, Division 3 or Juco. That is the reality of it. Great educations are received at those schools.
I’ve seen a player run for 2500 yards in ONE HS season & not get recruited!
I’ve seen a state Mr. Football winner go NAIA!
I’ve seen a player never run for 1000 yards in HS and get 30 offers.
Stop looking at everyone else, just Keep Working!
“We got better last year on signing day, and we got better this year on signing day. We identified the needs and addressed them with former D-1 starters and high school young men that fit our model….Mature.”
“Our model is the transfer portal and the best of the best high school…
Running track is one of the most important things in a football players development. There is a need for speed. If you are not a legit baseball player or a legit hooper, and by legit I mean you can get a scholarship in those sports. You need to be running track.
Every college coach that sits in my office this year will he asked. Where are the seniors that just graduated working? Where did you get them jobs? Help them start their careers? You told me it was a 40 year decision 4 years ago. Don’t tell me about the pain. Show me the baby.
Why do so many kids act as though they’ve been disrespected if they are told they are a D2 or NAIA player? Get your education. Also be able to accept the truth.
The best players I ever coached. Never missed anything. They showed up on time, everyday, ready to do the work. They all had that in common.

When college coaches controlled the ability to transfer they grossly abused it. Many student-athletes careers were ruined by vindictive coaches who blocked kids and prevented them from opportunities and receiving aid upon transferring. It is the coaches fault we are here.

I’m going to look at film today. Im going to personally send film of the top 3 kids i see in 2022, 2023, and 2024 to every college coach I know. Regardless of what state you are from. Follow me and drop your film in comments below. Do not DM it to me.
Making kids sit out 365 days for transferring in high school is abuse of power and outdated. It’s time for this archaic rule to be eliminated. If a family gains residency in a community for public schools, or gains admission to a private school. They should be able to play.
If you are a high school senior without a Division 1 offer, now is the time to understand that if you want to play college football, you will likely be going to Division 2, NAIA, Division 3, or Juco. That is the reality of it. Great educations are received at those schools.
Having a great coach can change the entire direction of your life, not just your ability as a player, but also how you see and view the entire world. Great coaching and leadership are life-changing.
Coach Saban,
Over a 48 hour period in the summer of 2018 you taught me something that changed the entire trajectory of my career. And that changed the trajectory of my life.
Thank you

When I talked to Coach Saban today he asked me extensively about the other sports a young man played. Don’t fall into a trap of just playing one sport. Help your school win games every season!
If a kid will skip his classes, and not turn in his work. If he won’t be disciplined and buy into coaching. If he is selfish and won’t be a great teammate. You will never win with him. He will most likely be the reason you lose. No matter how talented he is.
Coach Deion Sanders’ statement on Nick Saban’s retirement:
“I'm sad that we lost a legend who still had more to give, but the changing nature of the game intervened.
We will see the stability of the players tested on both sides: the players at Alabama, who are devastated and in…

A question to the parents. Why can’t you be excited for a D2 or D3 opportunity. Great football and great education. Get excited about it for your kid! It’s not about you!
