My son's 9U team is 8-0 and has a first round bye. His question to me last night is "Daddy, can we go scout the two teams we might play? We need to know what they are running." I guess I know what we are doing Saturday. Teaching him how to scout an opponent.

Today marks the 1st time in 31 years I'm not on a practice field in August. Instead, I'm in OCMD, which seems wrong. From pound ball in Bowie, to Bowie HS, to @FrostburgFBALL to 19 years in Anne Arundel. I hope we get to play this spring and I feel for all the players effected.

Had to show my son how to play this on our dining room table. He has a plastic one but had to go old school. If u grew up in the 80s or early 90s you may have played this on a lunch table or 2. Safe to say I am out of practice. He beat me 35-20 last night and 36-26 this morning

R.I.P. to my High School Football Coach Gary Wrenn, who died today. Coach Wrenn was the HC at @BowieHighFB from 1986 to 1997 and I had the honor to play for him from 93-96. He is the reason I chose to coach and teach. Alot of former Bulldogs owe him alot.

Spent part of my day taking the @AtavusFootball level 1 tackling course. Definitely worth the 2 hours it takes. We have been a shoulder/rugby tackling team for years but these guys go above and beyond! Looking forward to implementing some of this stuff. Recommend taking it.

Just finished the most recent @The_Coach_A book on Hybrid players and their impact on defensive scheme. Great read. We used a modified rip/Liz scheme vs 20 p this season very comparable to what @The_Coach_A had in chapter 10. Almost became quarters with 1 high playing robber.

Under front Stem to 4-0-4; reversed NCAA/All-Amer. blitz pattern w/ILB cutting the field first with the 4 tech A sticking 2nd. Gives the OG presnap pressure that usually would cross his face. With all the time we have, giving this professional dev with twitter thing a try.

This is why I hate social media. It gives people like this a voice. Face to face would be much better and way more fun with this topic. I was impacted by all 3 of my HS SS teachers, two of which were coaches. It's why I have invested 19 years of my life doing the same.

All this online learning stuff has been a real adjustment if you are a teacher. But, it has given us as parents a look into some of the stuff our kids are doing on Google Classroom that they never told you about. My wife found this in my son's from last year. Pretty cool.

Can't say how proud I am of my son and the accomplishments of the @SRYASeahawks 9U. They lost their championship game 18-13. As a Dad it's really great and humbling to see your 9 yr old care son much to cry at the end of a hard fought game. Life lessons.
