Thank you for your support Tiger Nation! What a ride!
Do high school seniors realize how hard it is to get a scholarship this year? Between Covid eligibility & the transfer portal, everyone wants the older, physically & mentally mature guys who have been through the not being the star anymore stage, home sickness, & sack lunches.
JUCO dudes:
D1 talent doesn’t get you D1 scholarships. You can’t just blend in, you have to produce & stand out. D1 dudes are different. It’s a mindset, it’s a work ethic. Lots of dudes have D1 talent, but can’t live up to the day to day work & grind it takes to make it.
I’m really at a loss for words tonight. I just found out that former NOC Mav Chelvin Webb passed today. Chelvin was one of the hardest working players I’ve ever coached. He was an even better young man. Please keep Chelvin and his family in your prayers. RIH CWebb. 🙏💔😢
I’m very excited to be coming back home! I can’t wait to hit the ground running and find the next Cowley Tigers! Thank you
@DennisRittle
and
@cowleyad
for this tremendous opportunity! Go Tigers 🐅🟠⚫️
Very excited about our upcoming 2023-24 season. We recently had a scholarship open up. We have an opportunity for a legit D1 level player. Must like school, be a team player and be a good dude off the court. DM’s are open. Looking for right fit for the program.

PSA: Every roster on a college program is going to be full. If you are a first time freshman, you will need to realize that you are going to have to come in and compete no matter how good you believe you are. There are never any guarantees, especially if you feel yourself.
There are 347 Division I college basketball teams. Each team offers 13 scholarships. There are about 4,511 Division I college basketball players this year. That means there are approx 1,127 D1 scholarships available to current HS, prep and Juco kids. What’s going to seperate you?

An unbelievable group of sophomores graduate today. You did things no one believed you could do. You definitely left your mark in the Tonk. Can’t wait to see what the next step of life brings these young men!
Congrats to NOC Mav Omar Boone for being named Maverick Male Athlete of the Year at our award banquet!! Very well deserved and earned!
#SuccessIsAChoice
I will forever be indebted to the NOC Mavericks community. I am very appreciative of the opportunity you gave to be your coach as a young man & the lifelong relationships that were built over the last 8 years. Words can’t express how much you mean to me. Thank you Tonkawa!🤘🐂 ❤️
A few former Mavs currently playing D1. All of them EARNED their opportunities to compete at the highest level. You can’t get their without academics, hard work, coachable attitudes, sacrifice and consistent performance!
#SuccessIsAChoice
NJCAA D1 assistant coaching position is available. Contact me for me details if interested. Need to find the right fit for a competitive program. Have to be loyal, have to be a grinder.
Too many kids are so eager or willing to quit when things get tough, don't go their way or when a little adversity sets in. Life isn't easy, or fair. Embrace the struggles, learn from it, and get better. Enjoy the positive, learn from the negative.

Proud to say I was either a player or assistant coach with Coach D for 248 of them! Congratulations
@Hutchmbb
! Dude is a helluva ball coach!

@CoachK_Nguyen
JUCO is bad for an AAU programs brand? Maybe they should come watch a Jayhawk Conference game. We had guys sign to the ACC and Missouri Valley this year. Our league has sent out countless D1 guys. To me JUCO helps build your brand. More qualifiers than ever committing JUCO.
Very appreciative and honored to be recognized by
@SilverWaveMedia
as one of 50 impactful coaches in the JUCO ranks. Many great coaches recognized. It’s all about the relationships with your players at the level and I’m thankful to have coached many great young men.
New basketball recruiting height policy: The two inch rule
6’9 is the new 6’7
6’7 is the new 6’5
6’5 is the new 6’3
6’0 is the new 5’10
Instead of being bumped up one inch, we just need to assume it’s bumped up two inches. 🤷♂️
I’m very thankful for this team and all of the former NOC Mavs that have played here and all of the assistant coaches that have worked under me. All of you guys are the reason for this milestone.

Humbled and Honored to be mentioned as one of Basketball Times Hot JC Coaches in the ‘Definitely worth a mention’ section of the Top 55 coaches in the NJCAA. Many great coaches veteran and young guns mentioned on the list!
Rest in Heaven Jim Tarter. Jim was my foster dad. He took me in from 1st-3rd grade and made a lasting impression on my life. All those memories and lessons are never forgotten.❤️🙏
Happy Birthday to former NOC Mav Chelvin Webb. He was one of the hardest workers and most genuine people I’ve ever known. Not a day goes by that your not in my thoughts. I know heaven is treating you well. Keep resting easy CWebb.

Special shout-out to
@mberry_11
for being a dad & student-athlete. It’s not easy doing either one. This young man has beaten the odds and made it work while being great at both! From wanting to quit as a freshman to cutting nets down as a sophomore. Even better things to come!
Only time I’m posting until after the season. I wanted to keep everyone updated. Proud of our guys 1st semester. Not to mention a pretty impressive 3.23 team GPA

Proud of my NOC Mav sophomore graduates! The leadership and day to day energy and enthusiasm that they brought to the program is something that will never be forgotten. Not to mention a record breaking season and a bid to the NJCAA national tournament!
Scrimmage Day is here! It’s been 312 days since the NOC Mavs have been able to compete in anything due to COVID-19. Just excited for the guys to get to compete against anyone but themselves, regardless of scrimmage or game.
