GCU is in the Round of 32. ASU hasn’t been there in 15 years. GCU has only been D1 since 2013. The idea that Phoenix/Tempe can’t support a great college basketball program is faulty. GCU invested and is doing it. ASU plays in an arena that has looked the same for 50 years.

Zylan Cheatham said Bobby Hurley brought the team onto the floor early today, before film, which was atypical. He made his players read out all six of the previous scores in their losses to UA. Then Hurley ran a baseline to baseline sprint for every point ASU lost by. Seriously.

Kenny Dillingham was hired at ASU 21 days ago and he has picked up 20 public commitments from recruits since then. Others have silently committed to ASU and will announce in coming days, they've told me. Factoring that in, Dillingham is averaging more than one pledge per day.

Important news: No additional ASU football players are expected to enter the transfer portal. None are allowed to do so until mid-April except those with degrees. Star WR Elijhah Badger is one of 51 returning scholarship players expected to continue with the Sun Devils in 2024.

It's hard to imagine ASU would fire Herm Edwards early in the season since his close friend, Ray Anderson, hired him. Such a move would essentially be an admission by Anderson that he made a mistake with his biggest decision. Also, that's why you don't hire your friend as coach.
