95% of the Skill kids that refuse to do track, you're missing a part of your development that is bigger than just speed development. I know some of y'all disagree, however Grit has to be developed just like route running, ball skills and back peddling. It's real out here. Watch

Very fine line between Parental support and Parental pressure in sports. I have been coaching 20 yrs. I see more kids stressed out over accolades and scholarships than before. If they have fun, they will prosper. Let 'em be a kid, they know what's at stake.

This weekend marks the end of the regular HS Season in Texas. Many are excited about the Playoffs, however it’ll be some players last HS game. I hope they realize what an experience they’ve been a part of. Camaraderie, fall camp, bus trips etc. Lasting impact on lives. #HookEm 🤘🏾

1st time Head Coaches 1. You may implement several things from your Mentor, but you are not your Mentor, be you. 2. It’s not always gonna go according to plan, but that’s ok. Learning on the job is the only manual you got 3. Trust is built in rocky and peaceful times. Be solid

It was somewhat controversial to some that we had a HS Football season. However, through it all, at least 12 of our guys that signed a Letter of Intent, to continue education and play football wouldn't have had the opportunity without a season. S/O to All that made it happen.

Young in my career I saw Reginald Samples take kids from Dixon Circle South Dallas to the State Final out of DISD. I didn't fully understand how hard that was then. I Overstand now. He deserves respect on his name.

If you show up late...to a Team function..it shows a lack of APPRECIATION for the preparation of your coaches and teammates that are on time. Being on time, simply shows that you care. Make all the necessary arrangements BEFOREHAND.

In Recruiting - always treat any univ that offers with respect. - nvr forget the 1st to offer you - if they offer extremely late, chances are they lost a commit. - don't say "many more to come" can be taken out of context - dont say "my 34th offer", after a few we get the point.
