I was tricked into showing up, completely shocked by the announcement, and incredibly honored to receive this recognition from the NBA.
My sincere appreciation to the
@BrooklynNets
for nominating me. I am so touched by the outpouring of support. Thank you!
Joe Harris was out of the league.
Cast off by Cleveland. Cut by Orlando. Injured.
But he made everything of his opportunity in BK and it has paid off, literally.
Congrats Joe!
Free agent guard Joe Harris has agreed to a four-year, $75M deal to return to the Brooklyn Nets, his agent Mark Bartelstein
@PrioritySports
tells ESPN.
After the Detroit loss on 2/9,
@KyrieIrving
said, “We haven’t turned the corner yet...but we will. And when we do, the league’s going to be on notice when that happens.”
The Nets haven’t lost since.
“If I was leaving the Warriors, it was always going to be for the Nets,” Durant said. “They got the pieces and a creative front office. I just like what they were building.”
Today is The Capper’s 1,900th consecutive
@BrooklynNets
broadcast. A streak dating back to October 30, 2002.
Let’s congratulate
@TimCapstraw
on 22 great seasons and counting.
I sat down with each of the newest Nets for the Voice of the Nets pod coming out Tuesday.
Three different personalities, but all very personable and interesting. Excited for everyone to get to know them.
I have so much love for Mike Breen. He’s like a big brother to me.
Thanks to him and the guys for the kind words.
And more importantly, for helping spread the word about
#FSHD
and
@CarrinoFSHD
Thanks to Mike Breen,
@MarkJackson13
and Jeff Van Gundy for shining a spotlight on
@ChrisCarrino
and the Carrino foundation during last night’s ABC broadcast.
Last night was my 113th Nets playoff broadcast and it was the most emotional by far.
To have so many people together in one place, with so much energy, was a poignant reminder of what we missed and lost over the last year.
May we never take it for granted.
With Aldridge the Nets now have a big man who demands a double team in the low post. He ended up tying a season hi with 6 assists last night.
He can also stretch and make 3’s (36.8%)
And on D, he played drop coverage and protected the paint.
...And he’s hungry for a title.
I’m in the running to be a
@pridemobility
roll model (get it?)
My job is my passion. Travel makes it possible. The Jazzy Carbon gets me there.
Despite having a face for radio, if you think I’d make a good “roll model”, please share this.
#PrideRollModel2023
Every team in sports looks to improve. They don’t say “adding this guy would be unfair”.
The Nets did the work to be in this position. Aldridge and Griffin in their primes would not have been available. They are experienced role players now. Nothing is guaranteed.
Thanks for all the kind words in the wake of the
@NBATV
piece on Beyond the Paint. I’m a fairly private person. I only share my story in the hopes of inspiring someone who needs it and raising money for research through
@CarrinoFSHD
Byron Scott was fired by the Nets in 2004 after a win. He was ejected in the third quarter of that game.
It was on the heals of a horrific loss in Memphis.
Lawrence Frank took over and proceeded to win 13 straight.
Tonight will be my 22nd season opener calling pxp on Nets radio.
The 1st was Oct. 30, 2001. Keith Van Horn had 26p, Jason Kidd was an assist shy of a triple double in his first game as a Net. Nets beat the Pacers
The teams combined for only 30 3FGA. Reggie Miller took 10.
Whatever you may be going through in your life, David Blatt’s comments about his MS diagnosis are worth your time. “We are open and honest with ourselves and with others seeking awareness and not hiding or shying away from the perception of vulnerability”
In honor of one of my all time favorite Nets, Caris LeVert. I’m raffling off this autographed jersey to benefit the Carrino Foundation.
Tix are $10 each and all the $ goes towards FSHD research.
Thanks Caris! We love u and we’ll miss you!
That’s a wrap on ‘19-‘20. Thanks to everyone at
@barclayscenter
for the setup during the Orlando games. Thanks to the Nets staff, especially the PR and Operations staff for their invaluable assistance. And thanks to
@TimCapstraw
for being the best partner I can ask for for 18y.
🚨 THE BRIDGE: EPISODE 5 🚨
An instant classic in Houston. A pair of rising stars. An All-Star. It's all here in the fifth episode of our all access look at the 2018-19 Brooklyn Nets.
Behind the scenes on this call:
I knew the ball was blocked, but I couldn’t see who.
@TimCapstraw
could sense that I wasn’t sure. Instead of jumping on the call, he quickly wrote “Pierce” on a paper in front of me.
I’ve been lucky to have a teammate like that for 18 years.
@BKBorn_n_Raised
That’s the kind of max effort it’s going to take on the defensive end. Heads up double teaming and switching. Fast pace. No one said it would be easy, but they are capable.
Springsteen on Broadway talked about putting together a band. Said it’s not about the best players, but the right players. The sum of the whole is greater than the parts. A communion of souls. And when it’s right, it turns math on its head. And 1+1=3.
I love talking so much, the Nets gave me some more air time to do it, with a lot of cool folks joining me.
@jasoncollins98
joins me for the tip-off. It goes live on Tuesday wherever you listen to your podcasts.
Season 18 in the books for me as
@BKNetsRadio
pbp. One of the most memorable because I don’t recall it ever being as organic as this. Given the current structure, I’ve have no doubt about future success. Thanks to everyone for the privilege.

Team orthopedist Dr. Martin O'Malley: “Fortunately, tests performed this morning revealed that there are no fractures and only moderate ligament damage. While the optics of this injury may have appeared to be more severe, surgery will not be required."
Last night we wrapped up season 16 together. I couldn’t ask for a better broadcast partner and friend.
Thanks to

for the shoutout last night and to
@B_VillJC
for the pic.
And special thanks to all the hard working folks at

People should be able to stay in their wheelchairs onboard planes, just like on buses and trains.
So many don’t travel because they fear damage to their wheelchairs. It’s not right. It needs to be fixed.

Nets with their 10th win of the season. Didn’t get to 10 last season until March. That’s progress. Good win in a terrific environment. Fun night in Mexico City.
I learned 3 things today upon meeting Nets rookie Day’ron Sharpe.
1. He’s a very big guy.
2. He’s a wonderfully engaging young man.
3. I’ve been in my role with the Nets longer than he’s been born. So there’s that….
Loved being back in the Rose Hill Gym today and seeing a terrific win by the Rams. This
@FordhamMBB
team plays hard under
@kyleneptune
. I’m excited about the direction they are headed.
Happy New Year! 2019 is the year the Nets have been building towards. They currently sit 3 games in the loss column out of 6th place, three games from the midway point. Trade deadline is about a month away. Their own first round pick, cap space. Could be a heck of a year.

The man behind the curtain who makes the Nets telecast the powerhouse that it is.
Also the straw that stirs the drink on our traveling road show. Congrats Frankie!!
I have a couple Nets related clips but...James Harden and DeAndre Jordan going over a play post game on a breakdown that happened up 5 with 19 seconds left....there's a self awareness about this team. Shoutout to Fred by the way.
Lou Williams on Kenny Atkinson:
“Kenny is one of my all-time favorite people in the world,” Williams said. “I give him a lot of credit for getting me back on my feet when I was down and out.”
My life has been a dream. And It all started on that campus. I’m a lucky man.
Thanks Ed. I loved meeting your staff and sharing stories of old. I hope that gym rocks again.
