While hiking at Angel Falls near Bass Lake in Madera County, off-duty Fresno CHP Officer Brent Donley (ball-cap) was alerted to a victim who was struggling to keep above water, stuck in the cold and fast moving water. His trailing & quick thinking undoubtedly saved the man.

An update to the case involving Fort Washington Elementary School Vice Principal Gavin Gladding: Rogelio Alvarez has been arrested and the suspect vehicle has been seized by the California Highway Patrol. No further details will be released at this time.

Snow Chains required on SR168 at the top of the four-lane heading toward Shaver Lake. We have been responding to several collisions and stuck vehicles due to snowfall. If you are not prepared for winter driving conditions, please postpone your trip.
Today the Fresno Area CHP participated in the annual Santa gift delivery at Valley Children’s Hospital along with Fresno Fire and Fresno PD. What an amazing and humbling experience to help bring out smiles from some wonderful children and their parents.

Please obeying the 25 MPH speed limit, park legally off the roadway not blocking driveways, and don’t litter. CHP does patrols the area. 27 parking tickets were issued in just a few hours this morning.
SR-168 at the top of the Four-lane just below Shaver Lake will be closed to all recreational traffic due to a large fire near Big Creek. Only emergency responders and residence are being allowed through the closure at this time.
We have had an increase in traffic collisions due to motorist not slowing down in the rain. Remember to turn your lights on if you are running your windshield wipers continuously. Keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel so you can get to your destination safely.

Fatal traffic crash at Kamm Ave at Jameson Ave in western Fresno County. Jameson Ave is closed from Kamm Ave to Nebraska Ave until approximately 1230 pm. Kamm Ave is not closed. Detours are in place.
Two-way controlled intersections: only drivers on one roadway have controls, either stop signs, or signal controls. These intersections are often the site of collisions due to driver inattention, distractions or unfamiliarity in the area. Be alert and always buckle up!

California Highway Patrol officers saturated State Route 180 and State Route 41. This Saturation Enforcement has yielded 91 citations to include speeding, seatbelt use, cell phone, and others. The California Highway Patrol is enforcing the law to lower the Mileage Death Rate.
The Veterans Boulevard Interchange is officially open to traffic!
This new overpass and State Route 99 access has been long overdue and will now allow for safer travel to and from the west side of the city.
