An honest citizen turned in $4500 cash found in an envelope on 22nd Avenue today. Shortly thereafter, the owner attended HPS to report the money lost and was shocked when officers reunited them with their cash. Thank-you to the finder for your honesty and integrity. You rock !!

HPS received a call about a suspicious man, turns out he was homeless & in need of emergency shelter. Officers worked with our community agencies finding him a place to bed down for the night, out of the cold. Please don't take your pillow for granted, some people don't have one.

HPS had a senior citizen attend our Station who was lost, suffering from dementia & unsure of where they lived. Thankfully this person was registered with our Service & officers quickly reunited them at home with their caregivers. Families of Hanover residents who are ....

Thank-you to the citizen who came to the aid of an HPS officer last night during an arrest of a suspect in the DT Core. The suspect was eventually taken into custody for an arrest warrant and faces additional charges of resisting arrest. He remains in custody for a bail hearing.

HPS arrested a 51-year-old male after an investigation into the theft of $1300 worth of Twinkies from a locked delivery vehicle. Dubbed the "Twinkie Bandit" by investigators, the only thing this suspect ended up with was a little tighter belt and a court date in Walkerton.

HPS received several calls involving visiting Juvenile hockey teams playing in a tournament in Mildmay that included bar fights, disturbances, unwanted patrons refusing to leave & damaging motel rooms. Not only do you represent your team, you represent your Town on & off the ice.

HPS responded to another mental health crisis call today. A timely response and de-escalation tactics resulted in the safe apprehension of a person with a history of violence & unpredictable behaviour. The person is now in the care of medical professionals. #healthycommunities

HPS officers training with the Automatic Licence Plate Reader stopped their first suspended driver using the new on board camera & computer system. A 49-year-old female from West Grey was charged with Driving Under Suspension and issued a summons to appear in court. #SaferRoads

HPS officers responded to a 911 open line from an unknown caller. Officers gained entry into the residence, finding a person in medical distress and summoned paramedics to respond. The patient was treated & transported to hospital for emergency medical care. #PeopleHelpingPeople

Yesterday, December 11th @GreyCounty lost two citizens to suspected #Fentanyl overdoses, one being a young mother & a resident of Hanover. Its time for people to stand up & call out these drug dealers to police who walk around with this deadly poison in their pockets.
