Since the begining of the year I have been working on an animation of BBH's lore. I finished it yesterday morning, the timing my gosh... This animation focus mainly on the events before q!BBH's death. I hope you enjoy it <3

Hello, here's a thread about Katabase backgrounds. I'm going to explain a bit of 3D stuff and trying to stay understandable, but sorry in advance for the complex vocabulary.

At first, I didn't intend to do a full animation, so I don't have many concept. For the eggs the hardest was to figure out how to make the legs, to not look too cartoony and allow all kinds of movement. I also wanted to have eyes because it make easier to have nice expressions
The longest thing to do was BBH's rig (skeleton). The creation of models and everything to animate them is done in Maya. The lighting, a lot of the look developpement and the rendering (computing the images with raytracing) is done in blender.
The animation is in 12fps. With the look given to the models, and sometime a lot of depth blur that I put in, it can give an impression of clay motion even if it wasn't really intended. Then, after it is rendered, there's compositing to make the images look prettier.
For the envirronement unfortunately it is not something I enjoy a lot so I just do the strict minimum to have nice shot with a specific angle of camera. "If we not see it, don't do it". Yeah sorry a bit disapointing
