Poor #airquality is estimated to cause 28,000-36,000 deaths a year in the UK. Although proving politically difficult, @MayorofLondon 's #ULEZ expansion will go a long way to improve health and environmental outcomes in the Capital ๐Ÿš—๐ŸŒ‡ Find out why ๐Ÿ‘‡

ULEZ: @MayorofLondon keeps parroting โ€œcleaning up London air is vitalโ€ But even his mates at Imperial College have to admit that air pollution is โ€œLowโ€ Khan has no democratic mandate for this tax & surveillance scheme His desperate claims are hot air @TfL

@CentreforCities @MayorofLondon Bold in the dishonesty of how it is being forced on us with no discernible change in air quality . This was never mandated or discussed or voted for (only extension to North and South Circular). Ulez is wrong in Outer Boroughs. Do more in Central London, which is still bad.

@CentreforCities @SadiqKhan @MayorofLondon That article is absolutely laughable and also fails to address the most important point - that YOUR impact assessment predicts that the improvement in air quality resulting from ULEZ expansion will be practically undetectable!

@CentreforCities @MayorofLondon The Jacob's report showed the ULEZ will have negligible effect on air pollution. However a ยฃ1,000 drop in income would cost 7 months of lifespan and someone who cannot afford to replace their car will end up paying four times that.

@CentreforCities @MayorofLondon How do? 90% of vehicles are already compliant and will be unchanged. How many of the remaining 10% will be removed from the roadsโ€ฆ.? Most will remain because you can pay a tax to kill apparently

@CentreforCities @MayorofLondon Another unsubstantiated statistic. As with the cycle lobby, people see through the lies. You canโ€™t take people with you if you constantly lie.

@CentreforCities @MayorofLondon Itโ€™s a bit extreme to charge me ยฃ12.50 a day but o drive my 1996 VW Golf. I purchased this car because the government allowed the car to be sold in the UK. Why should I be punished and not compensated for their failure to regulate cars sold in the UK? They messed up not me!
