I've been MIA.. I know 😫
I gave birth to beautiful twins in January, a baby girl and boy.
My maternity leave is almost up and I'll be back at
@SAfmRadio
in May.
I'm sorry for the blue ticking. The new motherhood streets have been real🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️.
How it started vs. How it's going
Like so many others in the country, I've tested positive for Covid19. Thankfully only mild symptoms (congestion and headache). I'm doing really well (as pictured below 😀🙈). Please take care of yourselves. I will be doing a lot of 📚📺🛏🎵💛 for the next 14 days.
A man allegedly rapes and assaults a 3-year-old little girl, leaves her with broken hands, and the police let him out of prison. He gets to sleep in his bed, while she’s in hospital recovering. That’s what’s wrong with this country. My heart 💔💔💔💔
In this country, you can leave your home for a doctor’s visit and not return. You will die at the hands of those employed to protect. The sun will set and no one will be arrested. You family will phone you, praying that you’re not the person in the pictures. This is not normal.
So basic education minister
#AngieMotshekga
has cancelled the briefing for tonight on the status update of readiness for schools reopening tomorrow. It will now only happen tomorrow at 11am. So what are parents and schools supposed to do between now and then?
I'm excited to be officially taking over the mid-morning slot on
@SAfmRadio
. It's a great responsibility I've been entrusted with, and as always - I'll work hard to not disappoint. Let's make it a date, from the 1st of May, 9am 🙏🏾
Starting off a new page this morning.. I'll be freelancing for
@SAfmRadio
in 2020. Looking foward to being back on radio. Please do join the conversation form 9-12am today 😊💛
Congratulations to the Sunday Independent for unearthing the story around the PPE contracts in Gauteng, the Diko’s and Masuku’s. Let’s see what the investigators find.
Well can you believe it.. The Health Minister says the Eastern Cape scooter project did not meet the basic criteria for patient transport as an ambulance. *clapsonce*
Caster Mokgadi Semenya! It’s a heavy day for you, following the ruling of the Swiss court to deny you the opportunity of competing on the global stage at the Olympics. Still fully behind you though. Your strength, your will.
The youngest graduate at UKZN this year, 19-year-old Clermentine Ngidi and the oldest is 77-year-old Dr. Ittamat Avin. What great South Africans. Congratulations to them.
Tonight will be my final broadcast with Newzroom Afrika.
I have decided to leave the organisation, and I continue to wish them well.
I would not be who I am without your support as viewers. You have given me more than I could ever ask for.
THANK YOU🙏
My heart goes out to Cheryl Zondi. Church can be one of the hardest of places to expose wrongdoing. May she continue having the courage to speak out against her abusers. May justice be served.

You were always the vibe in the room and so effortlessly cool. Thanks for all the encouragement you've given me along the way. My prayers and condolences to your family.

This is the moment where local government should be showing it’s relevance. So many communities are confused about what’s happening. Where are the local councilors? Even the ward councilors? What strategies are they putting in place.
So many of our callers have said this morning that politicians should stop referring to them as ‘our people’.. “We are not their people”. Do you agree?
My deepest condolences to Karima Brown's family following the news of her passing. She was courageous, bold and incredibly fearless. May her soul rest in peace.
NOTE: March will be my last month at eNCA. What a ride it's been. Thank to everyone who has supported me on this journey. There are no words to express what your support has meant. I'm eternally grateful.
My heart has been so heavy today. One of the callers on my radio show, Musa was celebrating his birthday. He said he had nothing to be happy about, he’s turning 26 and has never been able to get a job, despite a certificate in trucking. He’s been job hunting for 7 years.
Of course, our joy had to be interrupted. Now we must go to bed, questioning whether we’re buying nappies or not. I’m all for the

So basically 2020 is cancelled. Nothing should go back to 'normal' if we are to truly succeed post this lockdown. Our greatest victory will be surviving

Congratulations to the impeccable Thulasizwe Simelane, who has now been appointed as the anchor of Afternoon News, every weekday from 4 to 6pm on
@eNCA
. I'm so happy for you my brother. All the best in your new role.
It’s only fair to say, you’re one of those who led the way and made it possible for so many of us to follow in your footsteps, or at least try. Staying in this career for as long as you have, being as graceful as you are, is extraordinary indeed. Take a bow Ma.

11 years ago I used read news for Uncle T.. today feels like a full circle moment. Thank you so much for having me, and celebrating my journey. Feels good to be home 🙏🏾
Compliments or complements of the New Year 🙃. It's great to be back with you on the 📻 with you. I hope you have an amazing 2024. In all that the year will have in store, may we choose faith over fear.
To the women who've come before us, thank you for creating so much room for us to learn, grow, rise and fall. The one goal as Oprah says, is to "fulfill the highest and most truest expression of yourself". Let's meet at 17h30

Talk about a miracle rescue. The newborn baby who was dumped into a drain in Durban has been successfully retrieved and airlifted to hospital. Great work by the rescue teams.
Welcome back my blanket

Prof. Karim is giving us a very sober breakdown of what the future holds in terms of

. We may not be able to completely avoid the storm which lies ahead, but we must be well prepared for it.
I am disgusted and absolutely appalled.. and truly in disbelief. No regard for human dignity. 💔 So saddened that we live in country, where things like this can happen.

We jumped into the unknown and took an incredible leap of faith to join a start-up news channel earlier this year. The journey, the experiences and the lessons have been incredible. It’s a wrap from myself and

This is really unacceptable and unjustifiable. None of these protesters have a right to put their hands on her body or even prevent her from doing her job. It is not ok!
Tweeps, please help me tell Brighton, the "resurrected man" that his employers are looking for him? They need to know whether to replace him or if he intends going back to work.

Please allow me a moment to just celebrate and appreciate our evening crew at Newzroom Afrika. They are my office family and work hard behind the scenes to help deliver a quality product. I love you guys so much 💛💛💛

. Woman of valor and truth. I love how fearless you were. Thank you for all you sacrificed for this country of ours. That we can be who we are today.
But these things are not happening in a vacuum. It is treasury’s own regulations on procurement that are being bypassed. Surely, your department could shed more light on who exactly these people are, if you followed the money trail and demanded accountability?
A tender is an ethical contract. It is not a blank cheque to deceive and steal. And stealing from unwell people! During a COVID-19 pandemic! Please people. What kind of people are these criminals?!
This is what we found as we explore the Giyani water crisis. The community drinks this water, children bath in here. Animals drink from here, some fall in and die. But it's the only water source in the village of Xikukwani.
Thank you so much for the wonderful birthday messages and wishes. You've put this smile on my face. I'm humbled by the effort you made in acknowledging the day. Forever grateful. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 See you on the telly tonight, at 17h00.
We really have a serious problem with our borders. The minister of home affairs just said before the committee “our borders remain porous”, therefore there’s no sure way of knowing who’s coming in and out. Surely it can’t just be accepted as a state of being?
Guess who walked into our office like a G just for a special delivery. I'm so blessed to know you and thank you for all the love

When we ask what the money 'invested' into VBS by municipalities could've done? Here's a suggestion. These are RDP houses which were left incomplete by the Burgersfort municipality. They put in the largest sum, of over R230m into VBS. This house belongs to 72yr Roefus Mohlala.
The inequality of a schooling system laid bare. Private schools are likely to go back to school as usual, as they have less numbers. In the public sector, grades will be phased in as time goes on. Different rules will apply for the two streams

Jiba and Mrwebi's submissions on why they should keep their jobs are quite telling. There's an underlying sense of entitlement... and not a full appreciation of the wrong they've done.
