Yes, we are experiencing a level of non transparency at the Minnesota state capitol that I haven't witnessed in any statehouse. Bills are written in secret by lawmakers meeting in secret that are being released shortly before votes.
40 years ago today I was woken up on a Sunday by a Seattle AP editor calling me to work because something happened at Mt. Saint Helens. There'd been many false alarms and I was the cheapest overtime so I'd gotten these calls many times.
It wasn't a false alarm.
From Minnesota Secretary of State

So far, 423,032 have been returned and accepted.
