149 million AMC shares and 108 million APEs traded Monday on the NYSE. Exchange “halts” trading due to volatility, defined as a +/- 5% price change within a 5 minute period. If so, trading is stopped for a 5-minute pause. On Monday, AMC was halted 3 times, APE halted 10 times!

AMC announced 1st quarter 2022 earnings today. Revenues up 5-fold vs. Q1 of 2021. EBITDA loss reduced by 80%. Revenues per patron up 34% over 2019 pre-pandemic. Dr Strange opening was the biggest of 2022, and the 2nd biggest in the last two years! Go see it! Congrats @Disney .

Blindly fear dilution? You miss crucial FACTS. In Jan ‘21 AMC issued shares, AMC share price soared. May/June ‘21 more AMC shares, again our stock soared. Stopped selling shares July ‘21, $AMC started a long fall. APEs announced last week, $AMC up again. APEs makes AMC stronger.

Outrageous but true. Many $AMC shareholders live outside the U.S. Especially in the UK and Europe, brokerage firms refuse to facilitate shareholder voting. Costs the firms time and money to do so. Any workarounds to the problem violate U.S. law. Switch brokers, so you can vote!

Smartly issuing equity (as AMC said in January, May and June that we did) can fundamentally strengthen a company and mightily benefit shareholders. Due to AMC raising $1.25 billion in the past 45 days, S&P upgraded AMC’s credit rating on Thursday. Another important step forward.

Small steps forward are still steps forward. AMC Entertainment announced today that we have taken another positive step along our recovery glidepath. We were able to repay and retire $72.5 of long term debt for only $50.0 million. We got a meaningful 31% discount.

My point of course is that I am an AMC shareholder. A really big shareholder. My incentives are to help shareholders, not to hurt them. If I hurt you, I hurt myself. Why would I want to do that? To the best of my ability, my plan is to make AMC stronger and get it to thrive.

A Canadian court just ruled that Regal/Cineworld, our largest competitor in the U.S./Europe, must pay nearly $1 billion USD in damages over the failed Cineplex merger. Will be appealed, but anything distracting or destabilizing our biggest competitor brings opportunity to AMC.

Update on my AMC stock ownership: After prior year grants vested less income taxes, my AMC share ownership has risen to 793,974 shares, plus 1,561,832 granted but unvested shares, totaling 2,355,806 shares. A forceful incentive to do what is best for you and all AMC shareholders.

Black Widow opened big, and several more hit movies are also in theatres. AMC showed UFC’s Poirier McGregor 3. So, AMC SET YET ANOTHER POST-REOPENING ATTENDANCE RECORD this weekend (Thurs-Sun) of more than 2.5 million U.S. guests and approximately 3.2 million guests globally.

AMC continues to be on a roll. Because of our market leadership and superb reputation with landlords, we just picked up our 7th high traffic U.S. movie theatre on attractive lease terms since this past summer. A former Cinemark theatre in Evanston Illinois, just north of Chicago.
