A self-managed STR usually makes a 20%+ return
An index fund usually makes a 7-10% return
Good STR returns seem better but you pay for the difference with your time and energy.

What if you have time to devote to your STR? What if you love the specific STR market and thoroughly enjoy hosting others to share the experience? I don’t view it as work I view it as a hobby tbh

Just closed on an index fund for 50% of its value. Everyone else was paying twice as much the same day. Plus my private lender provided all the money. No money down. I hope my fund goes up in value.

If your not factoring time into the return it isn’t useful. What’s your hourly rate? Put that in there and then you can compare with confidence and quality.
