My cleaner didn’t show up to clean before a booking.
The doors were left open, so the guest cancelled the booking.
Cost me a bad review and $2,500.
2nd issue with the cleaner this month.
Will be sending another cleaner out for an estimate. Smh.
@BryceWGarcia
A bad review in a softening market sucks. If you need the review removed, I can refer you to a service that disputes reviews. They have a high success rate in getting the reviews removed.
@BryceWGarcia
Congrats on going through another rite of passage as a host. It hurts. What are you adjusting in your processes to avoid this hopefully not happening again?
@tyannmarcink
Ayeee making it a positive. I love it.
I'm having another cleaner go out to give me an estimate.
My current one is ok but there have been some issues adding up.
The price I'm paying is kind of high for the value (I didn't negotiate upfront which was a mistake).
@BryceWGarcia
This happens sometimes, it’s inevitable. Too bad the guest cancelled so reflexively. Hopefully that $2500 is over multiple nights so you can recapture some of the lost revenue.
If it was only over 1-2 nights, I’d invest in better cleaners!
@BryceWGarcia
That's tough...sorry to hear. That exact scenario is one of the reasons I have been afraid to pull the trigger on a STR. So much dependency on the cleaner.
Was the $2,500 from a cancelation?
@BryceWGarcia
I had to let 2 cleaners go for no-shows. My STR is in a mountain community with about 12,000 people total; Half of whom are retired. Labor is scarce and we try and keep a running list of 2 cleaners with an extremely expensive emergency cleaner in situations like those.
