Bruins are def overthinking this Grz thing. Yes he's small and sucked last year when he had injured shoulder, but he played well all year and he deserves another chance for playoff hockey.
I think it’s a good sign they signed Zacha because of Czech connection to Pasta and Krejci. if he’s staying you have to assume Pasta stays and perhaps Krejci.
How many games would Brad Marchand be suspended if pulled the two-hand slash Maroon just did on Manson? Be consistent for once in your life

I think this D core can handle 4 rounds if all are healthy going into the playoffs. Adding Gavrikov puts Grz, Forbort or Clifton in the press box which then disrupts the team vibe/chemistry IMO. Add another skilled RW and let AJ Greer or Craig Smith sit if not traded.
The NHL should really try a redzone type show once a weeknight with staggered start times to have constant gameplay and no commercials. Would “grow the game”more than putting ads everywhere under the sun
I think Lohrei should be sent down to clean up his defensive game when Grz returns. Initially felt he should stay up but I’d think he’s too weak defensively and he needs to learn how to play a higher defensive standard.
Call him back up in March to hopefully be a
Still not official yet but here’s the Bruins projected Cap Situation if Taylor Hall signs with a $6 million cap-hit.
$20M is plenty of dough to add significant pieces
Offseason Cap Projection for Bruins if the cap rises to the reported $87.7M for the 24-25 season.
I would hope they look to add another top-6 forward. Put Zacha back on LW if you can get Elias Lindholm. Or take a swing at Nylander if he's willing to listen.
David Krejci was an incredible player. I really wanted to see him and Lucic on a line together even if it was for just 1 game.
He definitely should have

retired in the rafters.
not sure I see the fit of Bo Horvat on the Bruins, this season or long-term. I think a realistic “all-in” type trade would be for RW Timo Meier in San Jose. He actually fits with the current forward group next to Bergeron, Krejci or Coyle as centers.

F Matthew Poitras underwent a right shoulder open stabilization (Latarjet) procedure today.
He is expected to miss approximately 5 months.
Initially thought not at all possible, but the Bruins really need another center and he would cost basically nothing.
If he’s healthy, family’s good and he feels the itch, why not play for a month or two and take another shot at a playoff run?
If the Flames are going to trade Elias Lindholm, they would need some high draft picks and prospects, and/or a young player in return.

Frederic signs 2x $2.3M deal. Updated Cap Projection with Swayman contract announcement due today.
-I like the Freddy deal, especially being 2 years. He got a little bit more than I thought, but I still think he hasn't reached his full potential. Big year upcoming for him.
David Backes saying he and Bruce Cassidy didn’t see eye to eye on how to play the game is a red flag to me.
Why sign a player like Backes or Foligno (dump and chase, forecheck type) when the coach wants possession and speed through neutral zone?
Sweeney aware of this?
Boston drive time radio is not for Hockey/Bruins fans. They dont watch and they dont care. They talk about Kraft/Brady/Belichick and the red sox bullpen. Its not going to change. Plenty of great podcasts out there though for Bruins talk.
Bruins Offseason Cap card. Need Bergeron back or at least Krejci or it seems like a lost cause Cup wise. Goaltending is set, D needs a tweak, but need another center to be a true contender.
Maybe not this week but I’m still in favor of trading jake DeBrusk before the deadline.
-His trade request is still in place.
-His production is sky high and getting a fair return is priority.
If he says something like “im fine staying Boston” than my take would be different
Bruins Cap Projection with the start of training camp tomorrow.
Really need some of the new forwards to be above average or make the jump to be regular NHL contributors.
The injured likely occurred on March 11, but he kept playing with fractured foot?
concerning he wasn’t rested to let it heal for playoffs. Would like some more answers on this.

Final Offseason Decisions Due Soon (long read):
Projecting a 23-man roster with 8 Defenseman, 2 Goalies and 13 forwards would leave the Bruins about $6.1 million in cap space to sign RFA’s Jeremy Swayman and Trent Frederic and UFA Patrice Bergeron.

Here is the decision for Bruins management, give Poitras under 10 NHL games and then send him back to Juniors or just send him to junior right after camp?
Feel like he should get 4-5 games as 3rd liner just to see how he looks. Send him back after that. (he’s ineligible for AHL
