He/him.
SIXTH GRADE SUPERSTAR is here! A chapter book that I wrote and drew. For kids, for adults, it's a hilarious story about finding your herd. Get it on Amazon now! Thanks!
I like Snyder but I disagree. You should absolutely put Batman in a situation where he has to kill to get out of it, BUT here's the fun twist, have him find a way to NOT kill because he's Batman.
whenever someone famous dies I always do my research to see if they ever worked with the Muppets (so I can include them in the In Memorium I make each year) and sometimes I find truly baffling things
For Example:
Joss Whedon directed a whole other movie while doing post on THE AVENGERS.
Steven Spielberg directed SCHINDER'S LIST when JURASSIC PARK was in post.
This is common.
“The Marvels” director Nia DaCosta began working on another film while “The Marvels” was still in postproduction. The filmmaker moved to London earlier this year to begin prepping for her Tessa Thompson drama “Hedda.”
I still think the last PEANUTS strip should have been Charlie Brown trying to speak but the only thing that comes out is WAUGH WAUGH WAUGH, and he realizes that his childhood is over.
ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE was fun and emotional and any random frame could be hung on a wall. Hilarious, heartbreaking, so crowd pleasing. Brilliantly written, directed, animated, scored and acted.
The growing love for MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL every year leads me to think that Disney+ should have the Muppets adapt a different famous literary or cinematic work every year. Three Musketeers, Don Quixote, Gatsby, Guys n Dolls, would be fun
Andre Braugher's Holt on BROOKLYN 99 was one of my favorite TV characters of all time. His deadpan delivery balanced the insanity of the show perfectly. And he was able to convey such warmth even as he was doing his masterful slow burn. May he Rest in Peace.
JOHN WICK 4 seems to be getting the best reviews of the entire series. Has their literally ever been another franchise where the fourth one is the best?
My hot take is that the BATMAN V SUPERMAN "Martha" moment was very good and that people didn't understand it. They weren't bonding over the fact that their moms had the same name, Batman was taken aback that this seemingly heartless emotionless alien was as/more human than him.
Ugh I wanna laugh and I can't find anything currently on TV but Abbott, Girl5Eva, Killing It, I Think You Should Leave, Hacks, Rehearsal, Always Sunny, What We Do in the Shadows, Dave, Shrinking, Harley Quinn, Star Trek: LD, Only Murders, This Fool, Solar Opposites, The Simpsons
I was just thinking of my time working on CHASING AMY and how important it was to me on so many levels. Have often thought of writing about it, maybe putting out a graphic novel, detailing my experience. Would ANYONE want to read that? Or publish it? Also who could draw it?
Be like Kermit the Frog. Ride your bike naked. Flirt with pigs. Be thrown into fans. Hide behind billboards with actual giant pies. Offer to pick up giant bird hitchhikers. Sniff the bottle cap.
Paul Reubens made something that no one else would have thought of. A completely original character, and movies and a TV show full of jokes we hadn't seen before; performances, characters, tones, unique to that world. AND they were optimistic. Joyous. We need more like him.
Last night I had a dream that I wrote a movie where John Cena played a spy who switched bodies with Kermit the Frog and I woke up and was like "I'd see it"
Not a wild opinion, but worth saying: the somewhat recent casting of Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk is right up there with Downey and Hemsworth and Evans and Hiddleston
Since it’s premiering tonight I can say that DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOR AMONG THIEVES is fantastic. One of my favorite movies in a long time. Funny, exciting, and had its own distinct, awesome personality.
I have a story. It has no ending.
I have always wanted to write Muppets. I sold a Muppet spec script I wrote for fun TO Henson, that's how I got my start. But it didn't get made. I've come close to working on them, have some jokes in one of the movies, but that's it.
It just occurred to me, if you don't know what i do for a living, this tweet makes it seem like my life changed because kaiju minions attacked the theater I was in.
I have long held onto a great idea for an animated movie, but couldn't QUITE figure something out something pretty important in the story. It all clicked today. This movie could be HUGE. Characters, concept, story, I've got it. What a feeling.
Kid asked to watch THE GREAT MUPPET CAPER. It’s so funny. You hear about “all ages” movies, but this one is literally that. A comedy where all the jokes work for everyone. It’s so smart and so silly, and filled with heart. More like this please.
Paul Reubens has passed away. He was one of my favorites. LOVED his mind, his movies, his performances. His work is a huge influence on my writing, and the kind of work I want to put out into the world. An original, and a genius. May he Rest in Peace.
Mike Hodges, director of FLASH GORDON, has passed. Finally saw this movie during the pandemic and it brought me such joy. Have watched it a bunch of times since. Nothing else like it. Rest in Peace, sir.
Keith Giffen was a vital part of my favorite run of comics ever. His work was influential on how I write, what I write, and what I find funny. His art was so distinct and full of life. A huge loss for comics, and to the super hero genre in general. May he Rest in Peace.
Ray Stevenson was so damn cool. My favorite Punisher, brilliant in RRR, some wonderful voicework in the STAR WARS stuff. Cannot wait to see him unleashed in AHSOKA. May he Rest in Peace.
A week ago my kid asked me the difference between a raven and a crow, and I told him one constantly reminds you of a dead lover, one will bring you back to avenge her. Look, I didn't know he was asking for a class. Anyway, I have a meeting with his teacher after school
Season two of
#SheHulkAttorneyAtLaw
should be about her moving to HBO Max, and having it be a FUGITIVE type show, where she has to jump from show to show as each one is taken off the site forever.
I have a way to avert the WGA strike. I'm sending roses to the studios and saying they're from the writers. And then I'm sending roses to the writers and I'm saying they're from the studios.
One time on Twitter a film critic told me that a film I worked on was terrible (he used harsher words) and I said "it's surprising you didn't like it, it tested so well with assholes" and he put that in the review.
Aw man, my wife made this great show
However I can't discuss it
Strike rules prohibit it, but
Oh man it's my favorite show in a long time
Killing me, each week. Exciting, fun, perfect.
Aw man I wish I could say the title.
One of the many crazy victories of WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT is that the human lead is more interesting and entertaining than any of the animated characters.
In HOP, when James Marsden got the Easter Bunny uniform, I asked him to ad-lib "Do I have to wear this" and the bunny would retort "would you prefer yellow spandex" and Marsden followed it up with "really?". Marsden knocked it out of the park. It was not used. Boo.
PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH is on VOD today. It's one of the most visually striking animated movies in years, and should be seen in a theater, but if you don't wanna leave your home, definitely check it out. The writing, directing, character design, acting, it's all A+.
I finished my kids’ chapter book.
Started writing it in my spare time 2+ years ago.
Started illustrating it about a year ago.
22,000 words. 175+ illustrations.
Not sure what to do with it. Will probably self publish.
Very happy with it.
Years and years ago, I had a not fun experience with someone working on a film. I was a huge fan of their movies, and my time with them made me not able to enjoy them. I recently reached out to them and we talked and it was very pleasant and I can be a fan again.
Wow
#TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles
MUTANT MAYHEM was fantastic. Loved every aspect of it, from the direction to the character design to the voice acting to the music, to the brilliantly written, hilarious screenplay. It’s also really sweet, you love and root for this little family.
