I want to say a big thank you to my son Liam. Today, he went for his nap at the start of the hurling final and didn't wake till after the football. A sound man if there ever was one.
RTE:We're hosting a FG and FF only leader debate
IRISH: What about the others?
RTE:Haha yeah
IRISH: No where are the other party leaders?
RTE:Sure you're going to vote for 1 or the other
IRISH:What if we want change, freshness, a new voice
RTE:I don't know what those words mean
I'm a breakfast roll connisseur. Where is the best breakfast roll in Ireland?
For me it was O Driscoll's Daybreak on Gillabbey Street outside UCC. I returned a few years ago but sadly the shop is now a house. Asked the occupants for my usual roll but was told to leave twice.
A cold Sunday in February.
What I'd give to be sitting on the bench at some generic GAA pitch, cutting the hole off the starting 15 with my fellow bench warmers in an effort to disguise our own shortcomings as footballers & heal our bruised egos. Good times.

So many big GAA matches exclusive to Sky Sports this year. I feel most sorry for our elderly; sitting excitedly in their living room chair with the anticipation of a good match only to discover it will cost them €360 to watch it.
A full lockdown is necessary. We Irish can't do half measures.
E.g. If a manager tells the players "Ye can have a few pints but don't go mad we've training tomorrow". The players will tear the arse out of it, end up in an early house in the docks Sunday morning..& miss training.
Joanne Cantwell asked the question that any good journalist would ask. The slack shes getting is baffling. Donal Og should've been better prepared especially with the amount of coverage it got all week.
"Of course you must have secondary competitions"
Dónal Óg Cusack addressed his recent remarks about the Tailteann Cup with Joanne Cantwell ahead of today's Munster SHC fixtures

My favourite past time on a Friday night was changing my number on my sisters phone to "The Late Late Show" & calling her 2 minutes before Ryan Tubridy announced the competition winner.

With no GAA, I'll really miss competing with others from our area outside The Gresham on how long it took to drive up from Kerry. One gang will be credited with making it in 'fierce time altogether'. An awkward silence would eventually be followed by...'where did ye stop to ate?'
The government & NPHET should take a 50% pay cut for December like us. They might see how the live performance industry actually operates.

This would've went from next to our house all the way to our children's school. Give 100s of kids a safe & healthy journey to school. The culture of objecting in this country is sickening. Stopping progress over fear of change.
Population of South Kerry has taken a mighty drop in 15 years. Here's one example:
South Kerry Minor Final 2006. Skellig Rangers V Waterville.
South Kerry Minor Final 2021.
St Marys/Renard V Sneem/Derrynane/Templenoe/Tousist.
Well done Jackie on the Toy Show. I know Jackie from my time teaching in Dripsey. A wonderful child full of life and his knowledge of trains & snooker is incredible!

Every restriction has been made by those who haven't lost a cent since the pandemic began. These people don't understand the self employed or the gig economy. They get their weekly wage yet make decisions for us all. This country doesn't know its arse from its elbow.

Donie uncovered the Russian Facebook interference in the 2016 US Presidential Election.
It's no surprise. When new people come to his hometown of Cahersiveen, locals know their name, job, shoe size & Junior Cert results within 30 minutes.

Taking up 2 parking spaces should be a clampable offence with a €500 release fee....and owners should lose their job and be put off the road for 6 months whilst being tarred and feathered at half time of the county final.
When we were teenagers, lads used prank each other pretending to be the Kerry Minor manager, often ending in tragic hilarity.
Pranker: "Hi Mike this is the Kerry Minor manager, can you come in Thursday for a trial game"
Mike: Oh my God really!?
Pranker: Haha no!
(laughter/tears)
Tough one for us Kerry fans to take. But the narrative of pundits saying "football isn't big in Cork" clearly have never been to West Cork, Mid Cork or Duhallow.

Rathmore to Castleisland.
Straightest road in rural Ireland?
1 gentle turn & straight on again.
Proper back road.
26km in length.
Like driving in Saudi Arabia.
But in forestry, not desert.

& Ambrose O Donovans commentary of Seanie Sheas free kick on Social Media. Unbelievable commentary. Makes the hair stand on the back of your neck.
The atmosphere in Croke Park was tense. Almost anxious. Everyone knew whoever lost was going to feel this one very badly. And we are. Most Kerry fans were wary beforehand. When Cluxton et al are going for 9, faith is greater than luck. We'll rise again. It happens. Up the Kingdom
Billy Morgan wins the Sigerson again with
@ucc_gaa
. I somehow ended up being kitman for the Sigerson win in 2011. I still don't know how. But it was the best weekend of my college life. The comradeship Billy created within the entire set up was amazing.
The Tommy Tiernan Show is top class. I think the creators were inspired by TG4 shows 'Comhrá' & 'Seal le Daithi' where under the radar guests tell their remarkable stories in a casual setting.

has finished....for now. What a revelation in talk show television. It's like watching a live podcast. Guests are completely at ease and reveal more of themselves than they would in any other talk show all because Tommy allows them time to gather their thoughts.
Moyvane B Team visit Portmagee.
Moyvane travelled 2 hours from North Kerry down to our sleepy fishing village. A great match in atrocious conditions - resembled the Ploughing Championships. The Moyvane boys were well fed in the Fishermans Bar. This is what B football is all about
I passed a place called 'Sheehans Garage' who have a sign saying they specialise in 'dashboard repair'. They should rebrand as:
'The Car-Dash-Sheehans'
A memorable birthday❤️ Thanks to my beautiful family for a wonderful day. A 7am birthday surprise in bed & a Mr Bean themed birthday party. One for the memory bank 🎂
Yesterday, I visited Fairview Nursing Home in Drimoleague Co.Cork as part of their residents' Christmas party. I told a few stories & even sang a medley of Christmas songs with singer Michael Ronan. Lovely to see our elderly being treated so well.
Kerry have won All Ireland's in 1909, 1929, 1939, 1959, 1969, 1979 and 2009. Kerry didn't compete in the remaining finals of 1889, 1899, 1919, 1949 and 1989. We're in the final of 2019.

These games are pityful.
Close for a while, but you know what's coming.
No excitement, no thrill.
All played inside the hollow atmosphere of a half empty super stadium.
