I think of this beautiful family often. Karolina Ciasullo & her sweet girls Klara, Lilianna & Mila-killed 1 year ago today in Brampton while driving home from a visit with Karolina’s parents. I spent 3 days reporting at the crash scene, the grief was palpable. They were so loved.

Pharmacist @FaddyMorgan is a frontline hero. He’s spending his Saturday volunteering his time & skills at a family doc office in North York, meticulously drawing up 500 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Each one of them will be injected into the arm of someone 60-64 years old.

Each one of these crosses at Camilla Care LTC in Mississauga represents a senior who we lost to #COVID19 . When family members gathered for this cross ceremony this aft, there were 48 deaths. Minutes later, we learned from the home there had been 2 more deaths.

Family members identify the victims of Friday's horrifying crash in Bradford as 9-year-old Christian Nunes, his 36-year-old dad Kyle Cobet, and 60-year-old grandma, Wendy Cobet. This is one of the last photos of Christian, taken just a few weeks ago on his first day of grade 4.

I’ve learned for many, getting the vaccine is an emotional experience. Waves of hope washing over the 13 months of fear and uncertainty. Those three essential workers really captured the moment for me - proud to serve their community, yet scared & uneasy while on the clock.

UPDATE: Barrie Police release sketch of suspect wanted in Friday's sexual assault on a female near @Bear_CreekHS . It happened around 3:00pm in the wooded area near the school. School board won't confirm if the victim was a student.

Nissan Canada tells me Douglas Ross, the general manager of Barrie Nissan, has been suspended after being charged with mischief. Police allege Ross vandalized multiple new vehicles at Experience Nissan in Orillia. Dealership's surveillance footage captured alleged crime clearly.

4 men are in hospital after being shot in Toronto’s Moss Park neighbourhood. At least 3 of them are in critical condition, the 4th has serious injuries. Nearly a dozen police evidence markers have been put down on Sherbourne St north of Dundas. We’ll learn more from police at 9am

HAPPENING NOW: firefighters have just finished extinguishing hotspots, after a fire tore through town home complex on Coughlin Road in Barrie. Paramedics say no one was injured, but there's bad damage to unit and 2 adjacent homes. Truck in driveway now a charred piece of metal.

New today: I’m learning the St. Sofia elementary school staff member in hospital with #COVID19 is a teacher. His condition is described as “seriously ill” by the local branch of OECTA. Letter sent to union members today suggests the teacher contracted the virus at work.
