Founder of BDPRecruiting, LLC. Former Director of Recruiting Northwestern University.
@IndianaFootball
grad. Recruiting Advisor. Realest since "Kumbaya".
Nine years, six Bowl Games, two B1G West Championships, 182 signees, countless relationships. It’s been real.
I am extremely excited to launch BDPRecruiting as an official recruiting advisory business! I will continue to educate and help even more recruits and their families…
Recruits: Stop sending me your film in my DM's. I can find that anytime I want on
@Hudl
. DM me your TRANSCRIPTS instead! I don't care what your film looks like if I don't have your grades.
Camps cancelled. So what? Find a football field, set up combine drills (40, shuttle, broad jump, 3-cone drill), look up how to do them properly, do position drills at full speed, have a buddy film it all steadily/clearly, send to schools so we can easily time/watch them ourselves
Recruits: Your Core GPA is what really matters, not your Cumulative. If you don't know what your Core GPA is right now, schedule time with your Guidance Counselor to talk in depth about your academics. If your Counselor doesn't know much, find someone who can properly help you.
Man I swear all you guys going to 7+ camps this summer better NOT complain to your parents/guardians about ONE thing ever again! Money doesn’t grow on trees so you better appreciate darn thing you get. That room better be clean, yard work done, dishes done, straight A’s… 😂🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Today I started watching full game film of some 2023 Prospects. I'm noticing a trend of guys w/ nice highlight tapes who don't really play hard otherwise. Guys want early offers, but don't want to play hard every snap. Some programs offer off of highlights alone, but not here.
When you get a scholarship offer from a school, it’s ok to ask them if the offer is commit-able. Meaning you should be able to commit on the spot if you wish to do that. This is very important, so you know which of your offers are real, which will help u make an eventual decision
Sept 1 is fun & its great to be acknowledged. But many of u may not get messages from schools u want & some won’t get ANY. Don’t worry bc its not where u start, it’s where u finish. Sept. 1 is just one day. Plenty on our team got no message from me on Sept 1 & it still worked out
Recruits: Please stop sending me to your Head Coach or someone else to get your transcript. I'm cool with talking with them, of course, but you should have it already. Always be prepared.
Congrats to all who got their Official Scholarship Offers today. My advice is to save ur recruiting DM’s & letters u get from schools bc one day ur going to have children who won’t believe you were really that good. 😂 Here are just some of mine I could find at my parents’ home.
All recruits should know I don’t back down and I have no fear. So, if you’re a big time player with big time grades, expect to hear from me at some point.

🚨🚨🚨Drop your film below if you are ALL of the following:
-An unsigned HS senior (‘22 Class)
-You took the ACT/SAT
-You have your 7th semester transcript
-You’re interested in Walk-On opps
-You play or are open to playing defense
*Bonus pts for verified speed/size numbers
Sept. 1 is one day in the whole recruiting process. While it is a great feeling to get a graphic or whatever, it does NOT mean you should feel bad about a school doesn't send you something. It's one day. Only the beginning. Don't stress. Just play and live. Schools will find you.
Recruits: If you can dunk a basketball, you should DEFINITELY have video of it on your Twitter page. Coaches & recruiters are looking for explosiveness. That is a demonstration of it. And don't be afraid to get funky with it, too. I love a windmill dunk as much as the next guy.
Quick message for all recruits as you've begun or about to begin your seasons. We watch game film. Every play. So don't be out their loafing around. We see you.
“The told me I am going to come in and start right away.” 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
If our Head Coach doesn't say to you, "We are offering you a scholarship", then you do not have a scholarship from Northwestern. It is plain and simple. I can't speak for how other schools operate, but this should make sense. I love you all. Thanks for reading.

Also, recruits:
Highlight or circle yourself BEFORE the play starts
NEVER stop the clip mid-play
DO NOT start the clip mid-play
We don’t need music on your highlight
Recruits: In addition to posting your workout film (lifting & speed/agility/position drills) on Twitter, you should upload them to your
@Hudl
page just like you would your game film. That way it will all be in one place and more easily accessible to college coaches & staffs.
Recruits: when u get a chance to talk w/ a coach/staff member, don’t just field questions from them. Instead, use that opportunity to get to know them better. Convos should go both ways. That way, you’ll build better relationships & have a more informed view of the school/people.
I wish recruits would just use a simple circle spot shadow or an arrow to identify themselves on film. Some of this stuff makes it difficult to pinpoint exactly where a recruit is. No need to get cute. Just circle yourself BEFORE the play begins & let it play. Oh, & no slow mo.
Prospects, Always know your GPA. If anyone ever asks what your current GPA is you should be able to tell them your Cumulative and your Core GPA. Saying, “my guidance counselor hasn’t told me” isn’t going to cut it. Take control of your academics.

Shout out to the recruits who have their updated transcripts & test scores ready to go for anyone who asks. That’s being prepared & staying ready. If this is NOT you, then I suggest you have those things ready to go at all times. You are trying to get recruited, after all.
🚨High School Coaches & Trainers🚨
Jump in my mentions/DM's! I'd love to connect with you about your players, get prospect lists, schedule a call, etc. If I'm not following you, just @ me and I'll follow back so we can DM.
Recruits, when you go to a Camp, send me a screenshot of your testing numbers sheet. And don’t scratch anything out. If you do, I’ll probably assume it was bad.
Again, if you send me your film, send me your transcript with it. If you don't have your transcript on you, then get it from whomever you need to get it from. Please do not send me your film and tell me you don't have your transcript. Make sure you have that on you. Thanks.
Recruits, make sure you’re getting to know the people recruiting you. Don’t just answer their questions & let that be it. Learn about who they are, their interests, and where they’re from too. This will help you build better relationships & ultimately help your college decision.
None of us recruiters believe the 40 time you put on your Twitter profile, so you might as well provide some type pf proof - either a video of it where we can time it ourselves (not your trainer. We don't trust that time either), or times from a legitimate camp we can verify.
Sending film is NOT really necessary because we can just look that up by searching your name into
@Hudl
or whatever system you use. Instead, send your transcripts, workout, and/or camp video. Those things, we can't just look up and it also shows you are well prepared.
We still need a few more dogs on the Offensive Line in this ‘24 Class - HS and the portal. Who’s down to ball out while getting the BEST education in the country!?

Advice for any of you high schoolers attending numerous camps this summer: Make sure you’re taking great care of your body and recovering. Think nutrition, sleep, stretching, ice baths, etc. No need to risk ruining your season over a camp. Film is more important.
Again, it's your Core GPA that really counts for college, not your Cumulative. Your core classes are in the following subjects:
Math
Science
Social Studies
English
Foreign Language
Since visits begin tomorrow, among many other things, I encourage all recruits to put your phones away (unless taking pics), have questions, get to know the staff better, and keep your right hand free for proper daps and pounds.
Recruits: If you don’t realistically see yourself going to a school and/or you’re not interested, just tell them. Don’t keep having conversation after conversation when you already know that’s not where you want to go to school. It will save you both time & headaches.
Best academic football program in the country.
Top 10 Football Program.
Best facilities in the country.
In one of the best cities on the country.

I recently had a recruit tell me someone was named Mike Jones. I responded with "Who?" a few times and he just kept repeating the name louder and louder. He clearly did not get the reference, which made me feel old and sad. 😂🤷🏾♂️
So many people said we would go 1-11 this year as if we didn’t have good players or something. I’m so proud and happy to be a part of a program that perseveres.
To all you recruits, come be a part of something special.

Yesterday’s loss hurt. We are NOT about moral victories. We are a championship level program who EXPECTS to win. Winning is the standard here. I’m proud of our players/staff. These are special people & this is a special program that I’m blessed to be a part of. On to the next one
If you’re a high school athlete and have aspirations to play college athletics in the age of social media, I recommend you put your ACTUAL FIRST AND LAST NAME somewhere on your social media profiles. Making yourself difficult to find will NOT help you in this process.
Most of y’all are done with your first few weeks of your seasons. Who is out there BALLIN’ on the field AND in the classroom? Who has that DAWG in them?
Recruits, you should always be prepared by having your most updated transcript and test score on your phone ready to send at any time. Don't be the guy who always has to get it from someone else or wait to get it for some reason.
Please DO NOT show up to a school’s camp wearing a different college’s shirt or gear (especially at the same level). I see it every year and I can never make sense of it… Don’t let your parents do it either. 😂🤷🏾♂️
Congrats to everyone who got ranked/given stars. You've earned it. But please remember your stars/rankings dont mean anything past High School. You have to put in work, earn it all over again, & understand there's always someone better than you. Learn from them on & off the field
For many years I've wondered, what if the recruiting services like
@Rivals
or
@247Sports
factored in an athlete's academics as a metric included in their rankings? I mean, they are going to school after all. Just a thought.
I TOLD Y’ALL I’M NOT BACKING DOWN AND THERE’S NO QUIT IN ME. IF YOU’RE BOUT IT BOUT IT IN THE CLASSROOM AND ON THE FIELD HOLLA AT YA BOY!
