Day 4 of #BlackHistoryMonth and we delve in to WW1 and the SWW. George Arthur Roberts left his home in Trinidad in 1915 and joined the Middlesex Regiment & becomes Sergeant. Very unusual. He served in the Battle of Loos, and the Battle of the Somme. 1/6

21 yrs ago today I nearly lost my leg to a tumour. A brilliant surgeon, Mr Stephen Cannon and his team saved it at @RNOHnhs I was told when I woke up from the complicated operation, “We saved your leg. It was touch and go.” That leg is doing ok. Some pain still but I can hike 🙌🏼

Mabel is aged 14 but last stages of heart failure now and she doesn’t have long. My son is visiting for Easter so I hope she holds out until then. 💔 She’s had the best life. Even travelled through France and Spain in the back of a car & to Cornwall on those summer hols. 🐾

The entire Stolpakov family has been found at the mass burial site in the Izyum Forest. Elena, her husband Dmitry, 6-year-old Olesya, 8-year-old Sasha and Elena’s parents were killed by the Russian Army back in March. These crimes can’t go unpunished.

Heart scan has confirmed an enlarged heart for our boy. Rupert will have 6-12 months left to live on this ball of rock. He’ll either pop off on a walk, in his sleep or be put to sleep. He’s a great dog. We are going to give him the best last year of his life. ❤️😭
