By rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, President Biden indicates he’s more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh. This agreement will do little to affect the climate and will harm the livelihoods of Americans.

Summiting K2 in winter was perhaps the last great prize of high-altitude mountaineering, a sport born as an expression of national strength among western European nations in the mid-20th century. This time, Nepali climbers made it to the top first.

US newsrooms won’t ask white journalists if their biases will show covering ~everything~ in America and the world.
Such questions are only asked to journalists of color who volunteer or express their desire to cover communities they come from or know better than anyone else.

As new Covid cases and death toll climb in Nepal, never forget that this man told you to gargle with guava leaves and voila, the virus is gone — while he is too occupied trying to save his throne.
All the unhingement, self-righteousness, and entitlement aside, Rabi Lamichhane's rant today ought to make Nepal's journalism leaders pause and think whether what they do on a daily basis is in the interest of the public or not.
