Harvard has a lower incoming HS GPA than UCLA. 60% of their admits are Legacy. Once in, they use grade inflation to pad grades (UCLA uses grade deflation). UCLA is still most applied to Uni in the world + 1/3rd of admit students being first-Gen. Don’t buy into the Ivy ‘hype’.

It’s time to decriminalize car-dwelling in LA. This is usually the last step before someone completely unhoused. Current law bans vehicle dwelling between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on most residential LA streets. Open Up lots (City & Private) + Allow people to survive in their cars.

We need to dispel the myth that a sizeable chunk of the landlords in LA are ‘mom and pop’. This is simply not the case- Most LA landlords are corporate LLC’s that have multiple properties. Bailing out landlords first, and tenants 2nd, is just a hand-out to big private firms.

Congrats to the tens of thousands of University of CA Graduate Students that went on Strike for better pay and benefits, and had their contract ratified today. It was the largest strike in the United States in 2022, and one of the largest in all of U.S. higher education history.

The UCs were once essentially tuition free. New Graduates could essentially start their lives debt free + above water, start fam's + buy houses. That was an investment in the State's future. CA should figure out a clever way to re-fund the University of CA back to even keel.
