Mercyline Chelangat of #UGA gave her all but finished 25th after the 10000m distance at @Tokyo2020 . She posted 33:10.90 and by finishing alone, especially coming off a maternity break, that’s respectable. Sifan Hassan if #NED won the #gold .

It hasn’t been her season. Olympic champion Peruth Chemutai had a big fall over the barrier and only hang on, losing second place to win 3000m steeplechase bronze🥉in a time of 9 minutes & 23.24 seconds. Knee hurt. It’s the 4th medal for Uganda 🇺🇬 at the @BirminghamCG22 Games.

Ugandan 🇺🇬 @JoshuaCheptege1 ends 2022 on top by winning the San Silvestre Vallecana 10K in Madrid, Spain 🇪🇸 in a time of 27 minutes and 9 seconds. It was his first race since getting knee problems in the 5000m final at the Oregon @WorldAthletics Championships in July.
