Villarreal came to Balaídos the day Aspas returned. At halftime, the visitors were 2-0 up. When the final whistle sounded however Aspas had scored twice, Celta had won 3-2. Iago broke down in tears, and couldn't stop crying.

As a young player Xavi was constantly compared to Guardiola and criticised for not being enough like Pep to a point where it nearly broke him and he almost left the club. Whenever he returns to coach Barcelona he’ll be back in that position again constantly compared to Guardiola

If you need some motivation, just look at this. After 3 years, one month and one day Bruno Soriano returns to a football pitch. He is 36 years old. Most people would have given up, retired, he didn’t. Three years, two surgeries and several set-backs later BRUNO is back!

After his death Sevilla wanted to retire Antonio Puertas number 16 but the federation wouldn't let them. Instead the shirt was reserved for youth players. And when Navas returned to the club in 2017 it was agreed that he would take over the shirt number once worn by his friend

11 years ago today Aspas made his Balaídos debut for Celta, he was 20 years old and that day he saved the club from potentially going out of business. Celta were struggling in the bottom of the Spanish second division and it was very likely they would not survive a relegation
