Several Meadville grads played big roles for Clarion last night. Freshman Ruric Douglas started at right tackle, sophomore Griffin Buzzell started at linebacker and led the team in tackles, and freshman Khalon Simmons logged some special teams snaps.

The District 10 Class 1A champions!
It’s Cambridge Springs’ first D-10 title since 1996. It also broke Mercer County’s streak of 15 straight district titles in 1A action.

Sadie Thomas committed today to play volleyball at Mount Union next season.
Sadie is a three-time all-state outside hitter, a 1,000-point scorer in basketball and was the football team's kicker these past two season.

I feel like it doesn’t get enough attention because it’s the norm at this point, but the Meadville volleyball team is 66-2 dating back to the 2019 state title run. The Bulldogs haven’t lost a regular season match since 2018.

Playing for the program’s first state title means a lot to a lot of people down in Cochranton!
Meadville football standout Brady Walker commits to W&J!
Walker had a school record 11 sacks, 90 tackles and seven forced fumbles last season. He also ran for 21 touchdowns and 1,548 yards.

Conneaut senior Payten Karastury reached 1,000 career assists for the Eagles tonight. CASH beat McDowell in five sets and Karastury had 48 assists.

Football all-region teams were released today.
Meadville’s Khalon Simmons was named Region 4 Player of the year.
Maplewood’s Sadie Thomas, in addition to helping lead the volleyball team to a state title, was named to the second-team as a kicker.

Simmons ends his high school career with two all-state accolades, 103 total touchdowns, 653 total points and 6,171 total yards.

The Saegertown volleyball team is ranked No. 8 in the latest poll from the PVCA.
The Panthers sit at 7-0 in Region 3, 10-1 overall and won the Cochranton Tournament on Saturday that featured some of the best volleyball teams in D10.
FB: Slippery Rock wide receiver Kyle Sheets was selected as a first team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association, becoming one of just two receivers in the country to earn first team All-America honors.

Just heard Meadville football added a non-region game against Erie High next Friday. The Bulldogs were scheduled for a bye week, but coach Ray Collins didn’t want a bye week heading into the potential District 10 title game vs. Corry.
Maplewood standout Sadie Thomas had 22 kills in the title match. She’s also the kicker for the football team and will make the trip to Farrell HS for Maplewood-Lakeview tonight.

FB: ROCK WINS! No. 10 Slippery Rock with a dominant second half, outscoring Gannon 28-3 to pull away for a 49-24 win. Rock stays unbeaten and improves to 7-0 on the year. SRU limited GU to 107 total yards and 27 rushing yards in 2nd half after GU ran for 197 in the 1st half.
