I always lol when people complain that a Star Wars alien doesn't look "right".
Like, get over it. 🤷🏻♂️
Humans vary in size, shape, appearance, etc. Aliens can too.
Megan Rapinoe is an American treasure and eloquently sums up how we can both be proud of our country's achievements AND be honest about it's remaining challenges. She ends by saying that we can "make this country better for everyone."
"A more perfect Union", one might say! 🇺🇸⚽️
Happy Anniversary to
#RogueOne
and the scene that literally caused me to shout an audible cheer of joy in the theatre.
Best Star Wars film experience I ever had. Period.
Dear ILM and Lucasfilm Story Group,
I'd very much like a hi-res image of the fleet arrival from
#TheRiseOfSkywalker
so that I can lock myself in a room for 12 hours and analyze it. Oh, and identify all the ship classes. And count them.
Sincerely,
A fan
I have lots of thoughts on
#TheBookOfBobaFett
(good, bad, and otherwise), but one thing I am impressed with is the use of aliens as major characters vs. being window dressing or background cameos. That is something that was sorely missing from the ST, imo
WOW... this really is getting out of hand.
Disney broke into my home today and EDITED the name of Slave I in my 2003 copy of The New Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels.

Say what you want of TROS, but the symbolism of Rey, last of the Jedi, using the sabers of Anakin/Luke and Leia to defeat Palpatine by turning the Sith Lord’s power against himself is peak Star Wars, peak George, and still gives me chills. 👌🏼
🌟🌌 🌟
Rey: Be with me.
Rey: Be with me.
(Hears voices)
Anakin: Do as I did Rey.
Mace: We’re with you Rey.
Yoda: With you, we are.
Ki-Adi-Mundi: What about the First Order attack on the Wookiees?
Me: Geez, we Star Wars fans take this shit WAY to seriously. It is a kids story about space wizards.
Also me: The idea that the fleet that arrives at Exegol was only civilian ships make no sense. The sheer number of capital ships further demonstrates this. In this essay I
One of the best things about
#Andor
is that it gives us a good feel for the symbiosis between the locals insurgencies and the eventual Rebel Alliance.
Each was entirely dependent on the other. The insurgencies kept the Empire spread, the Rebel Alliance delivered the big blows.
So, the vibe I'm getting from
#Andor
is that there is an (older?) element of Chandrilan society that likes arranged marriages for youths and a more progressive element that thinks this practice is backwards. As I've said before, I like it when SW cultures aren't all stereotypes.
Enough about ships.
The music.
The sense of hope.
The final fight against the darkness.
The sense of family and friendship.
The spark being ignited.
THIS is STAR WARS.
The saga is ending... but the story will live on forever. 🥰☺️
I'm so excited and grateful to say I've been writing Star Wars: Squadrons alongside

This is our reveal trailer.
See you in the stars.
My LEGO Rebel Fleet is assembled and ready for duty. With the exception of the Acclamator-class assault ship, these are all custom designs by the extremely talented

People love to shit on AOTC, but good Lord do I love this scene. The color palette, the music, the symbolism - all of it blows my mind EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Plus- that lost shot of Bail Organa tells us everything we need to know about the coming darkness.
Did you know? If you look carefully in Attack of the Clones, you can see the formation lines of the clone troopers on Coruscant are slightly off-center, which makes the shot more realistic and highlights George Lucas’ attention to detail
The size of the Grand Inquisitor's head may seem trivial, but the conflict itself is rooted in the fandoms somewhat paradoxical wars regarding the exact size and length of a Super Star Destroyer.
In this essay I
I genuinely CANNOT believe that there are people complaining about this CGI. I can’t wrap my head around it. This was literally a Nebulon-B frigate… You find it ‘horrifying’ or don’t want Star Wars or film/tv to go this route, you do you, but I am eating. it. up. My hero is back
FINALLY... something worth analyzing! 👀🤓🙌🏼
Thanks to

for catching this was posted on Bucket's List.

comment only. I will never again accept it’s too expensive to include a lot of aliens in a film. In 30 minutes, I saw more OT aliens (and aliens in general) than I ever imagined. WELL DONE! 👏🏼
P.S. DO NOT reply with any spoilers. I’ll block folks who do.
While not a perfect film, I will always love this sequence from TROS. It is classic Star Wars. Sidious, Sith Lord, being defeated by his own hateful energy.
Rey, last of the Jedi, using the sabers of her masters, doesn't attack. She defends, pushing the dark energy back at him.
The fact that those corporate security officers specifically called out Cassian as a human when looking for him was actually really cool. It reinforces that this is a multicultural, multi species galaxy. Human isn’t the default
#Andor
Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night with a cold sweat, thinking about how pained Wedge will be knowing he arrived at Exegol bare minutes after his adopted son Snap is killed? Asking for a friend.
Dear
@starwars
,
I am volunteering my services, free of charge, to identify, chart, classify, and name every single new ship class in TROS. I'm funny, I'll supply my own whiskey, and I'll bring tasty snacks to share with you all.
XOXO
Nick
P.S.
I'm GREAT at spotting traps.
Ok, time for some fleet observations from
#TheRiseofSkywalker
. While we don't have any official visuals yet (and I won't post pirated ones), a few really cool things stand out in the "arrival" scene. We will have to wait until a digital release... but for now, a thread.
Wait. WAIT. wAiT.
There are, to the best of my knowledge and ship spotting ability, ZERO GR75 medium transports in the fleet at the end of
#TheRiseOfSkywalker
.
WTF. Did the galaxy finally stop sending unarmed transports into combat? 🤣
Scarif. Endor. Jakku.
Not Exegol. 😂
Tech: This Artoo unit of yours seems a bit beat up. Want a new one?
Luke: Not on your life. That little droid and I have been through a lot together. You ok Artoo?
Artoo:

from Rogue One are why this film is top three for me. Plus it has the best looking and paced space battle in any SW film. Period. Don't @ me.
I’ve been busting my fucking ass being an Ackbar fan for 5 fucking years and I still can’t believe Rian Johnson didn’t consult me over Ackbar’s death. I’ve been called an Ackbar shill. This is business.
Ok... I know it looks barely like “the shot”, but I knew all week that I needed to gather my
#StarWarsArmada
Rebel ships to recreate the Resistance fleet shot from
#TheRiseOfSkywalker
trailer. 🤓
I added a classic Micro Machine Millennium Falcon. The Ghost and a U-wing too. 😉
I challenge anyone who tells me that there shouldn't be a Star Wars series that has the four of these people interacting in the same room.
CHALLENGE YOU.
The four corners of the Rebellion.
Not sure if folks have already brought this up, but I love that Kylo flew to Exegol the final time in a classic Imperial TIE Fighter. Presumably one he found in the Death Star wreckage. Seeing it (briefly) parked next to Luke/Rey’s Rebel T-65 X-wing was just perfect! 👌🏼
FINALLY... my years of training has paid off! 😂
I am so in love with how many folks are enjoying this, posting ideas, catching stuff I missed, and in general being fun/awesome. You all have made my day! 🥰
I found my capital ship drawing books from 2018!
When I was still a relative Twitter noob, I drew 100 ships in 100 days. I never missed a day tweeting one. Most were just average, but here are a few of my favs. 😊
I forgot how much fun this was! ✏️
Ok, thanks to this wonderful hi-res shot from
@BFCaptures
we can see ALOT more detail. Let's analyze this a bit deeper.
First up, let's look at the seven distinctly Mon Calamari ships.
A thread.
VERY happy to see the return of the classic Legends New Republic logo. We saw it in The Mandalorian, looks like this was very common in the early New Republic Era!
You'd think that 36 years after ROTJ premiered that there wouldn't be much left in it that hasn't been properly catalogued or identified in secondary sources. However...
These two women, "Rebel dignitaries", are still unknown and unnamed to the best of my knowledge! 🤔
No better way to start 2021 with a fleet review! 🥳🍾✨

The year is 1996. A young AdmiralNick22 turns in his book report on his favorite book, Heir to the Empire.
The synopsis of the book is VERY much in character for me. You’d assume Ackbar was the main character. 😂🤷🏻♂️
I've posted this before, but this shot of the Rebel Fleet at the end of ROTJ is one of my faves:
Orange = Home One-type (8)
Pink = Wingless Liberty-type (6)
Yellow = Neb-B frigate (2)
Red = CR90 corvette (3)
Purple = Dornean gunship (2)
Green = GR75 transports (14)
Hi friends.
A movie came out a week ago.
Some us loved it.
Some of us hated it.
Some of us feel conflicted about it.
But you know what?
Don't fight over it. Don't argue about it. Don't go out of your way to demean anyone who feels different about it than you.
MTFBTY
If you don’t get choked up when the fleet arrives with Lando and the music swells, you’re a fake fine. I’m sorry, I don’t make the rules.
It’s the music that sells the scene. It’s a joyful, powerful moment of the galaxy’s people taking their destiny back into their own hands.
Poe: How did you do it? Defeat an empire with almost nothing?
Lando: Nothing? We had a real navy, good commanders, and an organized government-in-exile. Oh, we had allies all over the galaxy too.
Poe: 😩
Lando: Yeah, you're probably fucked.
SW fandom is, overall, a wonderful thing. In an effort to show how the positive outweighs all the bad, I’ve got a fun idea. Reply with a positive Star Wars fandom experience/story and you’ll be entered to win free copies of TLJ & SOLO visual guides. On me!
