During colonial conquest Magajin Garin Keffi killed his Resident; Captain Maloney and fled to Zazzau, 1903. They refused him refuge, he proceeded to Kano. Kano accomodated him at cost of persecution from the whites.That's how he escaped to Makka. 1/2

Nigerian Muslim need to tell their story. The Boko Haram crisis for the fast 1 decade operates in the muslim majority BAY states & spilled to Bauchi & Kano. Yet the international community and local Christians portray it as religious cleansing of Xtians. Same goes to banditry.

The book provides insight into understanding of the intricacies of Nigeri’a democratic practices in Muslim communities: the compatibilities and incompatibilities. Paden authored Religion and Political Culture in Kano as well as the Biographies of Ahmadu Bello & Muhammadu Buhari.
When it come to the propagation of Sunnah and its application, honestly the Tijjani (esp. Faydha sub-group) for their modesty and humbleness, have undercommunicated their contribution. That today, some people appropriated the track ‘ahl sunnah’ to themselves only.
One thing about Shykh Nazifi not well known is that his father Mallam Ƙarami, is of the Salgawa network of Kano ulema & relate to Shykh Atiku Sanka tho, never made popularity. 1)2
Kano once had eagle-eyed Governors! Their vision was better & sustainable Kano. Tiga Dam: 2,270M liters per day; designed for irrigation and hydropower generation. The latter is yet to be achieved in morethan 12 years since 2012 and the former, seriously under-uterlize!

Who is this Ahmad Tijjani Tukur? The poem is titled Mutum cuta ne marar magani. Methink, it’s the late Mal. Tijjani Tukur Yola. I got it from the collection of Professor John N. Paden, part of his purchased Sheikh Umar Falke, Kano library.
1980 Kano saw an uprisal; the Fadan Maitatsine- religious disturbance led by the Gardawa (Dr. Auwalu Anwar researched & documented in some papers, his MA & PhD theses). Afterwards, Borno (Bulumkutu), Adamawa (Yola), Bauchi (Pantami)... 1/2

The making of Madabo. They are decendants of the Wangarawa scholars who visited Kano centuries ago. The title of Babban Malami still exist in Kano with Shykh Kabiru Madabo as the current Babban Malami. The title is today ceremonial with no command of influence in present Kano.

Prof. Dahiru Yahaya is always at his best, RIP. Cattle, horse and mosquito may seem nothing, but Yahaya draw relationship between these animals and labor & race in the Hausaland. After his 'Basket of Kaɗanya' I've not read Yahaya's best as in this paper!
