Is our subconscious stopping guys w/poor command, poor velo from performing better?
Is there someway to trick the subconscious into thinking you’re a command guy or throw harder, leading to better results?

Have had this thought countless times. If every time you went out to throw and the radar gun was showing mid 90’s would your body adapt? I think there is evidence in other areas in life to support the argument. Why not physical performance? Is there harm in lying to yourself??

There’s definitely some truth to it. If you really believe you’ve got a certain characteristic, you’re probably more likely to actually evolve into it. However, I think the trap becomes believing something to the point that you stop working to get better at it.

I wrote in my journal for months leading into the season that “I’m a motherf’n strike thrower”. By the time the season started, I believed it. Had a much better season of command that year than the year prior. Anecdotal, but it helped me!
