Reading “You are the placebo” by Dr. Joe Dispenza, and it has me thinkin Is our subconscious stopping guys w/poor command, poor velo from performing better? Is there someway to trick the subconscious into thinking you’re a command guy or throw harder, leading to better results?

@AaronRozek Have had this thought countless times. If every time you went out to throw and the radar gun was showing mid 90’s would your body adapt? I think there is evidence in other areas in life to support the argument. Why not physical performance? Is there harm in lying to yourself??

@AaronRozek There’s definitely some truth to it. If you really believe you’ve got a certain characteristic, you’re probably more likely to actually evolve into it. However, I think the trap becomes believing something to the point that you stop working to get better at it.

@AaronRozek I wrote in my journal for months leading into the season that “I’m a motherf’n strike thrower”. By the time the season started, I believed it. Had a much better season of command that year than the year prior. Anecdotal, but it helped me!

@AaronRozek Love that you’re reading this!! I think it’s less about tricking your mind and seeing to it that you convince yourself that’s who you are.

@AaronRozek 100%, the way you talk to yourself impacts the way you perform.
