@HBCUSports1 @PFitzB The fact people are trying to correct the state trooper vs county cop part is sad. An HBCU (sports bus) got searched for narcotics in GA. 1) I’ve never seen a college bus get pulled over. 2) Athletes that get tested, travel with narcotics?🤔 3) Did they smell the narcotics?😒

I’ll proudly accept District Champion Runner-Up after a game like that. Lost 1-0 on a solo home run to the #1 seed, Bishop Moore. This was Atlantic’s first District Championship game in a while and we played ZERO error baseball and won in the hit column 6-2. Proud of my boys! ❤️

If my coach was the only one Instilling discipline, effort, punishment, high expectations, grades, being on time etc. Sports wouldn’t be FUN to me either. Let that sink in when a kid say “It’s just not fun anymore” These type of standards aren’t being mandated every where.

Very funny how we have a pitch count to follow to limit arm injuries but our kids can't "technically" start throwing until January 20th with preseason starting Feb 10th. How about we let them get their arms in shape sooner to prevent injuries? #justathought

@michael_schlact 💯JV is suppose to be preparation for Varsity. Most don’t understand that unless you are a STUD, that’s where 9/10 grades belong. Travel ball has created this “I deserve to be on the top team regardless of my ability” which effects HS. Sad times!

There are levels to travel ball. You have the elite level talent who are going to make it and then you have the advance rec ball level with those who won’t. Just because you’re playing travel ball, that doesn’t mean you’re on the right track. The level matters, people!

In the same sentence, if you play up, we can hit a gap. No Homeruns needed. Just smart baseball. Same person bunting, hitting a triple. 2021 2B Dalton Hurst swinging a hot bat. Yes, We have lost a few games but we have had some great moments. Can’t take that away from my boys!

If players/parents can lower their pride and accept that not all kids are supposed to be in travel ball, it wouldn’t be so watered down and REC ball wouldn’t be so bad. REC is only bad because most of the ppl that belong there, are playing travel ball! 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

I disagree with people who say “You dont get recruited during HS but in travel ball” So why do the coaches come and watch your HS game after seeing you in travel? Is that not recruiting you at a HS game? Coaches will come wherever there is proven legitimate talent.

Unpopular opinion: It’s hard to prepare kids for a life that doesn’t exist anymore. Kids hear & see that you can make it without working hard, putting in effort, getting a degree, being a good person,or work ethic. Hard to say “work harder” if you can get rewarded without it.

I think coaches mind sets should shift from “getting kids to college” to “making sure they’re prepared for college.” If you’re team doesn’t focus on mental growth, culture, selflessness, sacrifices, Team 1st etc. you WILL get a kid to college, but he WON’T stay long.
