I think the best is a perfect balance between the two. Don't overthink too much and do things, but also avoid doing things with no direction or plan. I find both to be quite common depending on the group of people

Coding for L2s feels so good. I finally can use regular solidity mappings of mappings, checked math, reentrancy guard, copious amounts of regular plain Solidity without feeling guilty.
