it’s a free for all where anything goes. she put herself out there in a public space, the domain of men, so according to them she should’ve expected this. now she’s becoming their object, public property, with which they can do as they please.
men remind us that public space belongs to them exclusively as they make it hostile for women through catcalling, harassment, SA, random acts of violence, flashing, forcing conversations that aren’t reciprocated and then acting in an imposing, aggressive, or threatening manner to
