What the fuck kind of state school announces, during a lockdown, that school camp is going ahead, at a cost of $1300, with the deposit (which is more than a JobSeeker payment) due in 11 days? WHAT KIND OF STATE SCHOOL?!
Sorry just to emphasise - this isn't me this is a friend of mine. Tempted to run a gofundme for the fees, but honestly I want to the school to be held accountable first.
In the letter telling parents about the trip, there is a note about cancellation policy. If cancelled less than 30 days before, it's 100% of the cost. Everything. There is not a single word about what happens if we get locked down or borders are closed. NOT ONE WORD.
@yodaberg
A fwitted one with a fwitted office manager - the over manicured sort that send out flurries of letters identifying outstanding amounts of $1.50 for after school care 🙄
@danielbowen
Yep. Families can apply for help, which is $200 odd... if they get it. Still leaves $1100 to fund by July 30. When you're on JobSeeker... that ain't gonna happen.

The one my kids used to go to in Clifton Hill where they thought every parent was a millionaire...and that was 10 years ago (and the actual school where swine flu kicked off in Aus)
