The Tornado Cash events of last week exposed a long neglected problem at the core of web3. RPC node infra, middleware used to query and send transactions to the blockchain, is centralized - and web3 access is therefore censorable.

Tornado Cash contract still running on Ethereum. Tornado Cash front end still up on IPFS. That will never change and must infuriate those trying to stop it.

It is absolutely imperative that every part of this middleware layer is fully decentralized. Their centralization and a lack of decentralized alternatives mean that RPC requests to @TornadoCash were censored:
