Me, I was baptized by a Catholic priest. Not by my parents. My cousin and aunt stood as my godparents, to exercise their faith on my behalf. That's the Catholic custom.

If an adult that was baptized as a baby/kid wanted to get baptized again because they want it to feel like their own choice, should they?

The baby was not baptized, it was christened by its parents. Being baptized is for someone who has accepted Jesus as their personal savior. It is a public display of that decision and is not required for salvation. God bless!
