WSU’s issue isn’t just media value (viewership/market), it’s the combination of geography and media value. Former doesn’t work for the Big 12 and latter doesn’t work for the Big Ten. Perfect storm
Jake Dickert was fired up about the lack of respect shown to WSU on ESPN this morning saying Lee Corso called today’s game the “No one watches Bowl” This is 1:32 well worth your time to hear Coach fight for his team
@wilnerhotline
Really fun to watch this Coug game today. Too bad Corso still gets a platform, says some of the most inane & ludicrous crap. Time to retire/hang out with Holtz. Corso couldn’t find Pullman on a map. He’ll support his buddies & who Herbie tells him to talk about.

The geography argument is the product of a media narrative. Pullman is getting a new airport. It will be easier to get in and out of than Seattle.

What is media value if it is not viewership?
@wilnerhotline
The problem with WSU Football is they consistently do more with less. Beat “higher-caliber” teams with a bunch of 3 stars. We embarrass teams with far more resources.
This isn’t about W’s and L’s. The media market and location excuses are a sham.
@wilnerhotline
Says Ames...Manhattan, Kansas...Stillwater...Lubbock, Waco, and on and on. WSU on the merits is better than 25+ Power 4 schools and I can easily list them. All the schools sitting around thinking they are safe....yeah, not really. You may want to hope, we win this fight.
@wilnerhotline
I hear this media market argument a lot - and I get it, I worked in sports. But reality is…the “media market” for WSU isn’t any different than UW. Viewership doesn’t include only Spokane. One could argue it’s more cause you get Spokane, Seattle and Portland
