The end of the year is near, we want to give you some ๐ for the Holiday Season ๐
@FBriou
, our CPO, explained the whole end of year roadmap for WeWeb along with some new features for early 2024.
Want to see what we have in store for you? A thread ๐งต
1/ Update of the
@supabase
Plugin to use the V2 of their SDK ๐
When using Supabase as a backend for your app, you'll be able to:
- use more options, like lambdas or filters
- use Supabase storage directly for files (images, PDFs)
- use new authentication methods
2/ Design Systems are getting a major makeover. Enter Libraries ๐
Libraries are an improved version of our existing Design Systems.
They will allow you to store and share:
- elements
- sections
- typographies
- spacings
- colors
- CSS classes
- components
3/ Build once, reuse endlessly, thanks to No-code Components ๐งฑ
Create advanced components with their own abstracted logic, internal variables and workflows.
Once these components are ready, save them and use them in multiple projects with a parent/child logic!
4/ To help you use all of these new features, a brand New Navigation ๐ฑ๏ธ
Use an improved version of WeWeb editor's user interface. Easier to use on small screens, more concise and user-friendly.
With some "quality of life" improvements that'll help you be more productive!
5/ You're all waiting for this, here comes the Marketplace ๐
Creators: share and sell UI kits, templates, (and soon after, plugins) to earn some ๐ฐ
Builders: don't start from scratch anymore and build thanks to the community ๐๏ธ
6/ Import your design tokens thanks to our
@figma
Plugin ๐๏ธ
You'll be able to import to WeWeb:
- color tokens
- typographies
- elements (when you use auto-layout for responsiveness)
7/ New improved Developer Experience ๐ฉโ๐ป
We'll revamp our developer documentation. At the same time, we'll expose a more precise API for people who want to develop plugins on WeWeb.
All of this to help you build on top of WeWeb, to create your own plugins and custom components.
8/ Last but not least, Mobile Apps ๐ฑ
Push notifications, geolocation, GPS, bluetooth, pushing to app stores...
With those added features, the mobile apps you build in WeWeb will take on a whole new dimension!
We hope you're going to like these new features! Don't hesitate to tell us if you'd like something else added to the list ๐
To watch the whole replay, it's here:
@weweb_io
@FBriou
thank you for the update! Extended PWA feature looks very promising. I know that it will increase value that WeWeb can give to clients. And I think, as most of us, looking forward for reusable components!

I have mixed feelings about the marketplace. Templates are good, but UI kits or plugins they depend heavily on creators or developers to create components that should ideally be included natively. I've experienced this firsthand with Adalo
