20 years ago, we made Sauron's armour. Following John Howe's design, Stu Johnson hand beat the plate steel to make every component of this highly intricate armour. He then used sulfuric acid to add the pattern work and an aged patina over the surface of the armour. #LotR20

Not every Orc got to be a hero. Whilst the Moria Orcs in close-ups got glued-on prosthetics and digital enhancements, the background ones used slip-on masks with bulging plastic eyes. To ensure the performers could see, the eyes were filled with tiny holes. 👀 #orctober #lotr
