@shotski1 The current blocking is not the result of the SSW; in fact, conversely, it may have helped cause it. As you say, the events now occuring in the stratosphere MAY work back down to alter our current blocking pattern

@weathertrending Like you said SSW does not guarantee cold but increases the chance. I remember you said a few wks ago severe cold may come later on in this winter
