1/ Who am I?
Start with your core sense of identity.
Which, for most of us, is severely broken.
We develop our identity by working in the wrong direction:
- What I do = who I am
- Other's opinions = who I am
No wonder you feel lost in life.
Instead, start by connecting with the truth about who you are:
- You have intrinsic value
- You are worth knowing and loving
- Your life makes a difference
Regardless of what you do (or don't do).
Allow that to shape how you think, act, and interact with the world around you.
2/ What am I?
Understand your calling.
You have something the world needs.
Do you know what it is?
It's right in front of you, hidden in:
- What makes you strong
- The talents you possess
- What you love to do
- What burdens and breaks your heart
These things don't define your identity.
But they do reveal your greatest potential for impact.
You have:
- A strength to offer at a critical time
- A life-giving gift to share with others
- A contagious joy to spread
The world is waiting for you to impact it.
Start now.
3/ When am I?
Examine your historical context.
Your life is taking place at a specific point in history.
You may think it's the result of:
- A series of chaotic universal events, or
- The divine hand of a supreme being
Believe what you want to believe.
History is a window. Yours will close.
Don't miss the opportunities this moment in time present.
There are:
- Problems to be solved
- Inventions to create
- Frontiers to explore
You can learn anything and reach anyone.
Most of it wasn't possible before.
Now it is.
4/ Where am I?
Commit to your life circumstances.
I hate the phrase "they wasted their life."
It's so final.
I think there's only one way to waste your life:
Spend it wishing you were -
Someone else...
Living someplace else...
Doing something else...
With someone else.
Notice your internal declarations about your life.
Are they helping or hurting?
Consider:
- Has cynicism served you well?
- Has negativity been a faithful friend?
- Has wishing things would change changed things?
Leave those behind.
Drop "what if."
Embrace what is.
5/ Why am I?
Articulate your convictions.
My friend Dan used to ask everyone he met two questions:
- What breaks your heart?
- What makes you come alive?
The answers to those questions always revealed what truly mattered to a person.
Most people feel apathetic in life.
It's not that nothing matters to them.
It's just that they've never taken the time to articulate their convictions.
Convictions are deeply held beliefs that give meaning to our actions.
Understand why you do what you do.
6/ How am I?
Get specific.
Knowing your identity, calling, and historical context is a powerful step.
Committing to your life circumstances, and articulating your convictions puts you miles ahead of others.
But none of it means anything unless you put it into action.
The road to a meaningful life isn't paved.
You'll have to blaze your own trail.
This will require time, patience, and discipline.
Remember - small changes repeated over time will add up to big impact.
Know what steps you want to take.
Then take them...one at a time.
Everyone wants to live a life that matters,
But so few are willing to put in the work to make sure it does.
Stop wishing. Start working.
There's no such thing as "too late."

Amazing thread David.
This thread is a great way to stop and think about the questions you have put in.
History is a window. Yours will close.
Don't miss the opportunities this moment in time present.
This is gold!
