For you, Don - "Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days. No reason to be alarmed."
A year ago I had the most magical day of photography on Lofoten, Norway. There was fresh snow to start then we hiked to Kvalvika Beach. All day the light was just absolutely magic.
Voted for Jess twice. She puts herself on the line for the welfare of her constituents. She stood up to the “LGBT in school” protestors and made me feel like we actually matter. She has my vote every single time.
One of those mornings that fills you up. Goldfinches in the hawthorn, cuckoos calling in the fields and mist rising off the River Wellend. Enjoy the sunshine today 🖤

Some photos from an enjoyable wander around a foggy Birmingham this morning (in case you missed them over on

Loughrigg Fell. One of my personal favourite images of the Lakes taken four years ago today. Really hope we get some more frosts like this soon.

I’m not likely to surpass the success of the phone shot, but here’s a big camera photo of the poppy fields in Worcester covered in mist from Saturday morning.

Last Feb I was starting a month on Harris, a trip that I’d been planning for a few years. It was an amazing experience and somehow not long enough. It took about 10 days for that epic Scottish light to turn up, but when it did, it was just something else.

Some moments are otherworldly, like this particular February evening at Luskentyre. It’s hard to explain how much the whole sky transformed, and to think I almost didn’t even go to the beach that night.

Gosh, my Twitter has gone a little nuts this evening thanks to a lovely tweet from
@issybryonyh
. To those who have just followed me, I hope my images (like this one of Derwentwater in the the Lakes) bring some light through all the current, temporary bleakness.
Big camera version of Saturday evening’s poppy field under ever increasing dramatic skies. The first time I’ve entered any of the Monday comps in months...

- It’s been 11 years since I started taking photos and everyday is still a learning day. Here’s 4 of my favourite landscape images 😊
Through the Storm. The iconic Suilven & snow-capped Canisp lit by the morning sun as I was battered by hail. An amazing moment to witness & a privilege to photograph.

On Monday I head north to spend a month on the Outer Hebrides as a sort of 40th birthday present to myself. Looking forward to immersing myself once again in this special place

Today I turn 41. I’m more hopeful & content than I’ve been in a long time. I’m looking forward to seeing how 41 unfolds while doing the quiet work in the background. Here’s 4 of my favourite landscape photos from my 40th year.

I know there might be some low opinions of Birmingham floating around this weekend, and every city has it’s issues but honestly, if you give it a chance it gives back. The people are amazing and if you look close enough there is beauty in all the juxtaposition
At some point I’ve ticked over to 10K followers. Man, that’s quite something for little me. Thanks to everyone who has decided to follow my journey, it means the world, *especially* now 🖤
In honour of Twitter finally showing an entire image in portrait I feel compelled to post some of the images mauled by the Twitter crop previously. Here’s one of Devoke Water in the Lakes.

Tonight I met up with a friend from primary school who I haven’t seen in many years.
She told me that when she arrived at my school aged 9 I was the only kid who would talk to her, even when threatened by the school bully.
So proud of 9 year old me right now.
My friendly, neighbourhood robin. I was shooting with my macro lens and they hopped in front of the lens with no fear. Another than benefits from the updated Twitter crop 😊

The conditions were amazing for about 15 minutes this morning at Over Owler Tor. Currently consumed by low cloud. Phone shot.

Yesterday, whilst driving back from Scotland, I received news that my dad had died suddenly. Every minute since has been utterly surreal.
Struggling to process. This will always be my favourite photo of him.
The conditions this morning were a landscape photographer’s dream. I have more than a few images to process but I thought I’d start with this shot of the light creeping through the misty birch at Surprise View.

Gosh, I’ve ticked over to 20k followers. What a privilege to have such wonderful and supportive people on here taking the time to share and engage with my work. Here’s a Robin to say thank you!
